Feely saved about 2 or 3 kicks this year from going to the house - he is a beast. When he is called upon, he delivers. Unless we decide to hold and the proceed to have a false start thus pushing us out of FG range...

Not to mention this thread sucks dead monkey cock and I am responding to this shear stupidity......... the fact that the Jets can only sign a FA of lesser or equal value makes this jackassery, dumber.

Theres 17 kickers who are currently free agents.

All I simply said if it was possible to get someone similar or better than Feely in talent AND a 1.5 million dollar free agent (could fill some depth needs with this)

People are acting like Feely is the best kicker in the nfl.

Feely was 19th in the nfl in field goal percentage last year, and doesnt exactly have aboot when it comes to kickoffs.

Hell even Sebastian Janikowski who is easily one of the best kickers in the NFL could be on the market (theres rumors about Dallas pursuing him)

    Correct.

Unless we get another kicker who got cut/released.

    Which theres several of.

And if Dallas got Janakowski, theyd likely be cutting their 1 or 2 kickers they currently have.

He had an average rookie year, a very good 2006 and a decent 2007. Then he got hurt in 2008, and he was gone. There's not a very good reason to vilify the man. With that said, I'm happier with Feely.

There are 17 kickers who are currently free agents for a reason.

Oh yes let's get Suisham and their KO specialist... they are money in the bank!

In my opinion this year Feely delivered and should be kept. And I'm sure he will be kept...

Again please make an example of a UFA who will come here for 1.5 mill and have an impact on this squad like Feely does. In my book the answer is NO ONE...

PS Let me give you a hint as a guy who just finished his rookie year here on TGG... if 99% plus of the guys here don't agree with you just let it drop because you argument is probably wrong. Sometimes there are thread with 5 guys vs a million and they still might have a point (and it's right to defend that opinion)... but when EVERYONE is going against what you say they might have a point...

If he did that, then he wouldn't be able to argue in this stupid, stupid thread.

Nah man some of the 17 free agent kickers are studs.

    Janikowski, Reed, Rackers, Carpenter, Gotakowski.

These guys are all top of the line guys.

Im not saying we could get them easily, but tannenbaum knows his stuff. And if we could end up with a better kicker + depth, hed be the man to figure out how...

But i was just saying it would be possible, obviously after looking at the list of free agents I realized there really arent any good cheap UFA.

And whoever said something about "Kaeding moments earlier" im pretty sure Feely had one of those for the giants when he missed THREE game winning fieldgoals vs Seattle.

    Now ill shut up :D

Most if not all of these guys are going to command a larger contract than Feely.

Yeah yeah my idea was dumb I get it.

But I personally always liked Nugent, which was why the idea of bringing him back was appealing to me.

the guy finished 79%, 89% and 81% in his 3 seasons as a jet and id imagine he would only get better with time.

Thought those numbers looked good to me ><

I wonder if pending UFA's will hold out until the final 8 or 4 are able to sign them? Prolly some will.

So great he couldn't play more than 6 games this season because he sent his teams over the awesome cap.

Anyone who chooses to keep a kicker for his tackling skills needs help.

Arizona has Rackers who is one of the top kickers in the league.

They picked up Nugent to fill in while he was injured. Then cut him when Rackers was back.

Im not saying Nugent is an elite kicker or anything, but his numbers with the jets were very comparable to Feelys.

Hell look at the numbers of Feelys first couple of seasons vs Nugents.

I dont see why people are convinced Nugent sucks so bad.
