    Jam.?s February 13, 2010 Mock Draft
I try to provide some solid reasoning behind each pick, with a few sentences of support.

This is my first mock draft ever, so go easy on me :)

    1) ST. LOUIS RAMS - Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
It?s between McCoy and Suh here, but the widespread analysis is that Suh is a once in a decade type of DT. Steve Spagnuolo will be more than happy to take Suh and pair him up with Chris Long, to create a defensive line that could be a force to be feared in the years to come.

    2) DETROIT LIONS - Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
The Lions will be hoping that Suh drops, but will be excited to take McCoy out of Oklahoma. He doesn?t have the pass rushing burst that Suh does, but he can create some havoc in the interior of the defensive line. The Lions need help at basically every position on their defense, and the defensive line is always a great place to start.

    3) TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
Tampa is another team that needs help basically everywhere, so why not pick up a once in a generation playmaking safety? Eric Berry has the potential to become the next Troy Polamalu, and the Buccaneers will be ecstatic to have him on their roster.

    4) WASHINGTON REDSKINS - Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Jason Campbell doesn?t seem to be the answer at QB for the Redskins, and Shanahan is going to want his own QB to mold into what he?s looking for. Sources say that he?s impressed by Bradford, and Bradford certainly has the smarts to become the franchise QB the Redskins are looking for, if his shoulder injury isn?t too much of a factor.

    5) KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
Rolando McClain is the perfect fit for a defensive leader that the Chiefs are looking for, and he can be a mainstay in this Kansas City defense for years to come.

    6) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ? Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
Sorry Matt Hasselbeck, it looks like your time in Seattle is coming to an end. Many people are saying that Clausen is the most NFL-ready QB to come out of college in years, and most are saying he?s the best pure passer in the draft. This is enough to convince Carroll to pick the guy he?s played against the last two years, and hopefully get a franchise quarterback.

    7) CLEVELAND BROWNS -Joe Haden, CB, Florida
Another team that needs an entire defensive makeover, and Joe Haden is just the guy to help them out. Haden is an extremely talented corner, and personally I believe he has the talent to become the next Darrelle Revis (man that feels good to say).

    8) OAKLAND RAIDERS - Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers
The Raiders have to go OL in this year?s draft, and while Anthony Davis? 40 time might not impress the other Davis (Al) his weight and strength certainly will. The Raiders have been neglecting their offensive line for far too long, and this is the draft where they will finally address it.

    9) BUFFALO BILLS ? Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
To call the Bills? offensive line dreadful would be a gross understatement. Since Clausen didn?t fall to them, they should pick up the talented Okung, who will protect the blindside for whoever will be starting for them week 1.

    10) JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
While Morgan might not sell tickets in Jacksonville, he is a high motor player that will help the swiss cheese Jacksonville defense against the run and the pass. He isn?t the most physically blessed player, but he makes up for with effort and determination.

    11) DENVER BRONCOS - Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee
The Broncos need some 3-4 NT help, and Dan Williams will be just what the doctor ordered. He won?t get many pressures against the quarterback, be he?s a big body that will open up holes for Denver?s linebackers to make plays in the running game.

    12) MIAMI DOLPHINS - Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
The Dolphins desperately need help at wide receiver, and Dez Bryant is the playmaking wide receiver that can make a difference day one. Ted Ginn Jr and Greg Camarillo just aren?t the answer for what the Dolphins need, and even though Davone Bess showed some flashes of being a good NFL wide receiver, he was too inconsistent to be what Miami needs.

    13) SAN FRANCISCO FORTYNINERS ? Earl Thomas, S, Texas
San Fransisco needs help in the secondary, and the pick between Safety and Corner might come down to whether Clements and Bly leave the team through free agency. Earl Thomas is a very good safety who could instantly bolster the 49ers? pass defense.

    14) SEATTLE SEAHAWKS ? Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Walter Jones is only getting older, and he was too injured to play a snap in the 2009 season. Williams has experience at both left and right tackle, and is athletic enough to be what the Seahawks need to defend Clausen.

    15) NEW YORK GIANTS - Brandon Spikes, ILB, Florida
Now that Antonio Pierce has been released, the Giants need an interior linebacker to hold down the position and be a defensive leader for them. Spikes might be a reach here, but he should be a good fit for the Giants.

    16) TENNESSEE TITANS - Everson Griffen, DE, USC
The Titans desperately need some pass rush to help out their struggling secondary, and Griffen provides the speed, athleticism, and pure pass rushing ability that will instantly help them against the pass, and pressuring Peyton Manning and Matt Shaub.

    17) SAN FRANCISCO FORTYNINERS - Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
Alex Smith showed some flashes that he might actually become a good NFL quarterback, but if he is going to do that, he will need some help with protection. They need immediate help at right tackle, and Bulaga should be able to play there on week 1.

    18) PITTSBURGH STEELERS - Mike Iupati, OG, Idaho
Steelers need help in the interior offensive line, and the intimidating bruiser offensive guard Mike Iupati is just what they need to improve their running game. Pittsburgh will be more than happy to grab the best player available.

    19) HOUSTON TEXANS ? Perrish Cox, CB, Oklahoma State
Many people have Cox as their second best corner in the draft, and the Texans need CB help, especially since they might let Dunta Robinson go to free agency. Cox could help the ailing pass defense of the Texans, as they already have the offense necessary to become a playoff team.

    20) ATLANTA FALCONS ? Brandon Graham, DE/OLB, Michigan
With Abraham past age 30, the Falcons need some youth in their pass rush. Graham could be a game changing defensive end, with a lot of potential. After a great Senior Bowl, expect him to shoot up the draft boards.

    21) CINCINNATI BENGALS - Damian Williams, WR, USC
With the loss of T.J. Houshmanzadeh to free agency last year, and the tragic loss of Chris Henry, the Bengals suddenly find themselves in need of wide receiver help. Damian Williams should pair up nicely with the other former Trojan, Carson Palmer.

    22) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS ? C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
The Patriots desperately need defensive help, but since Graham didn?t drop, they?ll take C.J. Spiller who was arguably the most explosive player in college football. Spiller could be a lethal receiving option for Tom Brady, who might not have the same Wes Welker that we?ve come to know coming back after his knee injury.

    23) GREEN BAY PACKERS - Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland
Aaron Rodgers has proved he can be a franchise quarterback, but his offensive line needs to help him stay standing so he can make plays. Campbell can instantly bolster Green Bay?s struggling offensive line.

    24) PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida
Many would consider Dunlap to be a steal this low in the first round, and the Eagles don?t have many glaring needs on their team, so Dunlap would seem to be a perfect fit. Though he seems to have maturity issues, these might be fixed with age.

    25) BALTIMORE RAVENS – Donovan Warren, CB, Michigan
Baltimore cornerbacks were getting burnt all season and it seems to be their biggest need to address in the offseason. There is a lot of debate over the ratings of corners in this year’s draft, but Warren could be just what the Ravens secondary needs.

    26) ARIZONA CARDINALS – Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB, TCU
The Cardinals desperately need youth in their pass rush, and Jerry Hughes is a high motor type of player that could be a great addition to Arizona’s defense.

    27) DALLAS COWBOYS – Taylor Mays, S, USC
A safety that can run like a corner, and hit like a linebacker? Jerry Jones must be foaming at the mouth. The Cowboys need free safety help, and though many people think that Mays should be converted into a 4-3 linebacker, I believe that the team that drafts him should at least try to teach him some coverage skills before forcing him to become a linebacker. If anything, the Cowboys could use some inside linebacker help, so if they do decide to change his position, he’ll be filling a need.

    28) SAN DIEGO CHARGERS - Vladimir Duccasse, OG/T, U Mass
I almost went with Jahvid Best for the Chargers here, but what is the point of a running back if no one can block for him? Duccasse can solidify the right tackle position, and open up some holes for Darren Sproles in the running game.

    29) NEW YORK JETS - Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise St
A board favorite, and for good reason. Wilson can become a great #2 corner, and could be overlooked in the draft for the simple reason that he comes from Boise State. I’ve heard from a former Baltimore Ravens scout that Rex Ryan absolutely loves cornerbacks. With Rex’s exotic blitz packages, we need physical corners on the outside that can frustrate opposing quarterbacks, and even force some sacks. Wilson would also fill the question mark of our punt returning situation, as Jerricho Cotchery doesn’t have the explosiveness most of us would like to see at the position. An all-around great pick.

    30) MINNESOTA VIKINGS – Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State
It’s hard to make a pick here without knowing whether Brett Favre will be returning next season, but nevertheless the Vikings should be looking to upgrade their defense, and particularly their secondary.

    31) INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - Jared Odrick, DT, Penn St
Defense, defense, defense! The Colts have to improve their defense at all three levels, and Odrick is a great fit at DT, and should instantly help against the running game.

    32) NEW ORLEANS SAINTS -Sean Weatherspoon, OLB, Missouri
Well we all know the Saints don’t need any offensive help, so a fast, athletic linebacker like Weatherspoon would be an extremely great fit for the Saints defense.

    Insert time machine joke here.

    Very nice mock

A good corner like Cox, Wilson, Warren will drop to us so that's good.

No Tate, Benn in the 1st round?

I couldn't really find a team that needed Tate or Benn.

Perhaps the Vikings could've used Benn, but their wide receivers played well this season

I would be happy with that mock and I think it was done very nicely.

Donovan Warren to the Ravens makes a lot of sense, but they almost have to take a receiver in the first round.

    Nice mock, Jam.

Good overall, but I still think the Rams HAVE to take Claussen #1 overall and I think the likely hood of Ronaldo McClain going in the top 5 is very unlikely

Nice mock, especially for one you made in December :)smile:). I can't really disagree with any of your picks and I'd love to get Wilson.

Just remember that it is Chris Long, not Jake Long who Suh would pair with.

Good Mock...I like the Jets pick

I don't know about CJ Spiller falling to 22 and that seems pretty early for Damian Williams too...

Also you don't even have Jason Pierre-Paul in the first round when he could end up being a top 10 talent...

You're right, he could...but not before the combine. A lot of questions will be answered at the end of this month.

I like the Jets pick, with Revis's tutelage that kid could be real good. As for the Witherspoon pick for my Saints...eh. I like it, we need another LB, even though Scott Shanle played pretty well this season. I'd like for them to take a DT to help Big Sed Ellis with the run stopping but at that point in the round, I dunno if it's worth wasting a #1 on a any DT left. Overall, good mock.
