Well, obviously somebody cared other than I, TGGCop, because one of your two threads that were exactly the same got locked. So, you did do it for attention, huh? Thanks for admitting to it so easily. I didn't even have to go good TGGCop, bad TGGCop on you. At this point, especially after his performance in the Senior Bowl, Brandon Graham is the best prospect on the poll...and that's not my opinion, that's a fact.
OK? As it should have been. This isn't the big deal for me that it is for you. You call it some kind of landmark victory...I, and the board, have moved on from that huge day. And we know how badly you want to go bad cop on me... Lol, no it's not. Saying it's a fact doesn't make it a fact. If saying it makes it true then I say it's a fact that you're wrong. I say it's a fact that Iupati is a better prospect as a G than Graham is as a DE/OLB. I say that it's a fact that Cody is a better and higher upside prospect at NT than Graham is at DE/OLB.
I don't even know what the fuck you were trying to say here, but Graham is still the best prospect in this poll.
Since what I said was too complicated for you...No, he's not. That would be Iupati...unless Cody finishes up draft season like I expect him to (very well). A 6'0 DE with short arms isn't going to be the best prospect in the modern NFL no matter how good he is...and I'm someone who's been singing Graham's praises since he was playing with Woodley in '07. There's as much a chance Graham falls into the early second as there is he goes in the first 20 picks...hell there's probably a higher chance of that.
Our biggest needs are DE and OLB. I can't decide who is the weaker link Douglas or Thomas. So I'd prefer to go DE, because of age. I'd take Jared Odrick.
KYLE WILSON. He will make our defense exceptional and is sucha beast/ball hawk he'd have such a bigger presence on our defense opposite revis. Then, In the second id definitely go for a DE/OLB but i gotta go with him first. Hopefully a guy like Norwood or Hughes or Selvie would be there.
Brandon Graham's 6'1 263, and inch shorter and the same weight as Woodley. He's also bigger than premier 3-4 rushers like Elvis Dumervil and James Harrison.
Shockingly, none were first round picks. And that still goes around the fact that he's not a better prospect at his position than Iupati is at his or Cody is at his. Those guys are prototypes...Iupati at 6'6 330 has elite size at G, is a road grader, is high character, can pass block, and is athletic enough that teams were willing to give him a look at T (even if he bombed at it)...Cody is a 6'4 370 pound NT with above average athleticism for a 300 pounder who's lost 60 pounds in the past couple years because he takes what he wants to do seriously...Graham is a 6'1 DE with below average arm length...in the end, measurables will affect a prospect for better or for worse...Will the guy will be a player? Yes. Is he better a better pick than Iupati or Cody? No. Not when we have a shitload of money in our starting linebackers right now, we have one backup drafted to be a future starter entering that all powerful 3rd year, another guy who took the transition well and will be in year 2. Then there's Butler on the practice squad...Murrell on the PS.... Behind our starting OL, who do we have that's a future starter? Hunter? Turner? Slauson? Do any of those names scream future starter at LG or RT? Same for the DL...Pito a future starter? DeVito? Those guys were late round signings...at least the LBers have a high pick already backing them up, even if he hasn't done anything since being drafted. There's a cap in the league, and you can't just throw money and resources at a position and hope it'll fix itself. It's far more likely we have our 2010+ pass rusher on D right now than it is we have our 2011/2012 LG or RT who can be our top backup in 2010. There's simply more young depth at LB with two coaches who have alot of experience coaching those guys up.
I'd love to have Iupati but I'd hate to see us use a 1st rounder on someone who isn't going to start right away, so I went with Graham. If Graham is our 1st pick, then OL depth needs to be addressed with our 2nd.
OL or DL would be nice. I really think Tannenbaum will try to get back into the 4th round somehow...this draft is too deep for us to not acquire more mid-round picks.
I voted Graham too, but who knows what Tanny's plans are short term for Faneca. Faneca is on the the downside of his career. Iupati would look real good sandwiched between Brick and Mangold. I'd still take Graham, if he's available, over Iupati.
+1 WW, I'm pretty sure if the Jets draft Brandon Graham, you'll buy his jersey minutes after the pick.
I'm not a real jersey fan...but I probably will. I only own 2.......Curtis and of course...Wesley Walker. I almost bought a Vilma Jersey back in 2004. I don't know if you remember how badly I wanted Vilma on the Jets? One of the happiest draft days in my life..next to 2009's draft.
I was split between OL and DL in the 2nd, but I figured the defense can still succeed with a less than stellar line while the offense cannot.
