    MY Jet's mock:

The Jets trade Kerry Rhodes for a 3rd and 6th Round picks, in 2010's draft. The Jets may have to give an undisclosed pick back/swap picks in 2011..based on certain conditions.

I went heavy on defense, Rex wants to add some more of his type of players.

Round 1) KYLE WILSON,CB, BOISE ST...The Jets address an obvious weakness, especially with Lito and Strickland with one foot out the door. K-Dub will step into the #2 corner from the start. Wilson had a very nice Senior Bowl week, the 3rd best corner in this draft. Excellent returner, but I may have another option later in this mock, I want to keep Wilson/Leon/Cotch all healthy.

Round 2) KOA MISI, DE/OLB, UTAH.....Jet's need another force at OLB that can get to the QB and have some coverage skills. Misi has been climbing up the boards and should be available in late Rd 2 when the Jet's are OTC.

Round 3) ALEX CARRINGTON, DE, ARKANSAS ST....a player I've had my eye on for a long time. Carrington didn't disappoint at the Senior Bowl...applied constant pressure against top quality O-Lineman.

Round 5) MYRON LEWIS, S, Vandy....Lewis slips a little, probably had a Rd 3 grade going into 2009's campaign. The number of quality safeties make Lewis a victim of numbers. Played very well in the tough SEC, with not much help around him.

Round 6) MIKE TEPPER, OT, CALIFORNIA...Tepper has been a solid player and played LT, but may be better suited for RT in the Pros. Nice depth addition and safeguard if Brick went down.

Round 6) LEROY VANN, CB/KR, FLORIDA A&M.....Mike Westhoff jumps on the draft table and screams.."I want this guy". Need to keep our Starters healthy. Vann has returned 11 kickoffs/punts in the past 2 years for TDs..no shit. Could be one of the fastest players in this draft. Not going to be a starter in the secondary, but will provide depth....Coleman (who must have 9 lives) needs to go way.

Round 7) MARCUS EASLEY, WR, UCONN...........had a great year, a walk-on that proved he can play. An overachiever....Rex's kind of player. Could be a nice slot player and fit into the #3 role. Has really good hands. Let's not discount late rd WR's...some have become very productive players in the NFL.

I like Wilson, and you saying he's the 3rd best corner is pretty much where I stand on him too. The only other corner besides Haden that's above him solidly in my mind is Perrish Cox. His return skills would be a big boost because the team can't have Cotchery back there forever.

Misi isn't quite the outside linebacker I'm hoping this team adds, he looks to me like a guy that could handle the move to the 43 pretty well. He was a DE but wasn't much of a passrusher in college, and I think the Jets needs to get someone who specializes in getting to the QB. He'll be better off just making the transition to a 43, or going to a 34 that needs a guy with open field ability.

Carrington is a nice prospect to develop on the line, and Lewis is a victim of a loaded Safety class, both would be good additions. Tepper is the right style of tackle to bring in, a guy that plays RT but has the ability to move to the left side if disaster strikes.

Vann and Easley I've seen in person, both can contribute to the team. Vann is a dangerous returner, and history shows the best return guys are the ones left to focus on the craft (obviously). Easley is a big, fast receiver to develop.

I like it and you wouldn't get any complaints out of me if this was the weekend we come out with.

Is losing Kerry Rhodes worth a 3rd and a 6th? I'm not sure. I think he's expendable but the limitations put on the Jets for finishing in the final 8 have me a little less willing to deal him.

One of my concerns is actually how big is Kyle Wilson? I've seen him listed everywhere from 5'9 to 5'11.

My only concern with this mock is, with losing Rhodes, do you think Lewis could come in and contribute right away at safety? The idea of E. Smith/J. Ihedigbo opposite Jimmy Leonhard full time is a bit scary.

He was listed at 5-10 at the senior bowl.

I like the Wilson pick, I don't know much about Misi. Florida A&M have to have the ugliest uniforms I've ever seen.

To be honest, how much has Rhodes contributed the last couple of years?

The Jets need to add another safety and Lewis may just be the player, you never know till you give someone else the opportunity. Lewis a lot more physical the KR and has a bigger upside...KR has hit his peak and is in a freefall.

I'm with you here, WW.....we need a safety that will lay the wood to the opposition with proper tackling technique....not somebody who's gonna utilize the flying shoulder blocks (Ultimate Warrior - WWF) like our friend Kerry Rhodes.

nice mock btw....I hope we grab a CB with our 1st round selection too..whether it's K-Dub or Perish Cox.

    Who?? Misi???

Get your facts straight....Misi is anything but a workout warrior. Misi is the Anti-Gholston....a tough, hard working player that loves football.

Misi has a non-stop motor and is excellent in making plays in coverage and putting pressure in the backfield. For a big man, Misi gets around real well. Koa may not be a sack master, but is a well-rounded player that does everything you would want from a 3-4 OLB. If Misi could get 6-8 sacks a year it would be a big plus in the Jet's defense, but it wouldn't be his only roll. Misi could drop in coverage while our quicker secondary players blitz the QBs...an important aspect in Rex's defense.

The reason Gholston is a failure in our defense, he has ZERO coverage skills, the stiffest hips on the planet earth and one-trick ponies don't survive in Rex's defense.

Myron Lewis is one of the 5-6 most underrated players in this draft.

I like Carrington, but I feel like there's better in round 3...Also, I hate the idea of trading Rhodes.

I didn't know workout warriors didn't love football, thats different. Misi is someone who played for a smaller school and is now catching the scouts eye because of his athleticism. His best season was his senior season with 5 sacks.

I hear you with the coverage skills. And that would be great to have, but I want a bonafide pass rusher. Not somebody with just potential right now.

You're the one that called him a "workout warrior". That's a total false statement. Misi had a great week at the Senior Bowl against top-notch competition.

I don't consider Utah to be a small school. Misi has been extremely consistent his entire career. A player like Misi would be extemely valuable in the Jet's defense. I'm not saying sacks aren't important, having versatile a 3-4 OLB that has all the skills is of utmost importance.

Misi can rush the passer and can make plays in the backfield, when put into that position. Misi is very strong, tough and tenacious

Oh yea...not a fan of the Misi pick either...solid player but not a guy I'm looking for in the 2nd round...not enough of a pass rusher to take that high.

Koa Misi is a workout warrior. A person who raises his draft stock due to good measurables despite having average college seasons.

    Wrong....the combine hasn't even started.

Misi performed well against the competition.....that's not a workout warrior,,,that's a hellva good football player.

Exactly. I don't get where these workout warrior comments are coming from.

Misi has one of the better motors for a defensive lineman in this draft - the guy works incredibly hard.

Performing "well" shouldn't get you a 2nd round grade. Misi doesn't have crazy looking stats and didn't make game changing plays but will be selected relatively high because of his impressive physical tools.

Exactly E...I guess we don't much about the NFL Draft and evaluating players.

I just search for Koa Misi and workout warrior - Scott Wright has labeled him as a workout warrior...before the combine. What a bum.

...and after reading what MC is saying, it's looking a lot like Scott Wright's analysis.
