During the forth quarter when the saints DB intercepted the ball and the ref clearly called offensive interference on the WR. But the Colts got the ball back. I didn't quite understand that, couldn't they of just declined the penalty and it would of been the saints ball with a touchback? And if the penalty happened before the interception then why do they allow a free play if its for nothing?
Well, thanks to the OP. I got up to p!$$, and came back and Dickface still had the ball and I never found out why.
I understand why it wasn't an INT. I don't understand why it was offensive PI, though - from the replay, the DB was clearly pushing off on the wideout.
if I remember correctly, I thought the DB had position on the sideline and the WR grabbed his jersey from behind and tried to pull him away from it, which made it a good call.
I'll have to look at it again, but the thing that stood out to me was the stiff-arm the DB was giving him.
