Yeah, check out his numbers in the three games leading up to the superbowl against Cincy, Indy and Denver. He played a horrible superbowl but they never sniff the lombardi without him in the three previous games.
that Roethlisberger week was amazing radio. Francessa could not control himself, and I loved it. edit: btw this thread is 146 pages wow hahah.
Roethlisberger is on the MOOOOOON compared to where Peyton is as an NFL quarterback. What did Ben do when the game was on the line? Easy he went boom boom bing boom bing boom boom TOUCHDOWN!
Fatcessa blaming Caldwell for going into a shell before the Half and giving the Saints the ball back with 3 straight runs into the line. Doesn't he always praise Manning for being so smart and calling the plays? Now it's Caldwell's fault?
he gave it to manning pretty good... he basically had to concede my point I made to him last week when I called about putting Manning on the level of Montana... His point was Montana lost plenty of playoff games... my point was he never lost a superbowl and that was the difference... Mannings stock has fallen greatly and who'd of thought Eli would end up being better under pressure
Thanks be to God that we can put an end to all of the B.S. Legacy talk and for sparing us the "Pursuit of Perfection" analysis....
just said, "Montana had MUCH better teams ... Montana got lucky vs the Bengals when they dropped an INT that would've ended the game..."
I love how Francesa just gives teams free TD's. He said it goes from being down 24-3 to being 13-10 SAINTS! He blames CARDwell(LOL) for not being aggressive. Why is there a guarantee Manning goes 99 yards with less then 2 minutes? Then opens up the 2nd half with another TD to make it 24-3.
Manning is so overrated. He may be one of the greats, but people talking about him as the Greatest Of All Time are nuts. He's choked in the playoffs more than just about anyone. If people want to say that Favre is the worst of the greats, then Manning belongs right with him. Manning = 9-9 playoffs Favre = 13-11
Regular season means nothing. Playoffs is what matters. You don't play those 16 games to then call it a day. It'll all about winning the Super Bowl. That's the end game, if you don't care about that, then you shouldn't be playing.
Favre's a better player. Period. He plays the game like his hair is on fire. Manning is a more accurate QB, with a Better supporting cast. The only fire you see in Manning is when he's rueing the fact that his teammates aren't as talented as he is.
Also, Manning plays in an era where defenses can't do crap in the secondary. Look at the yardage totals from the NFL's leading passers: 1985 - 4,137 Marino. No one else over 4K 1986 - 4,746 Marino. Only Jay Schroeder over 4K. 1987 - 3,387 1988 - 4,434 Marino. No one else over 4K. 1989 - 4,318 Majkowski. Everett 4,310. 1990 - 4,689 Moon. No one else over 4K. 1991 - 4,690 Moon. No one else over 4K. 1992 - 4,116 Marino. No one else over 4K. 1993 - 4,030 Elway. 4,023 Young. 1994 - 4,555 Bledsoe. 4,453 Marino. 4,264 Moon. 1995 - 4,413 Favre. 4,338 Mitchell. 4,228 Moon. 4,143 George. 1996 - 4,367 Brunell. 4,177 Testaverde. 4,086 Bledsoe. 1997 - 3,917 1998 - 4,212 Favre. 4,170 Young. 1999 - 4,436 Beuerlein + 4 others. 2000 - 4,413 Manning + 2 others 2001 - 4,830 Warner. 4,131 Manning 2002 - 4,689 Gannon + 3 others etc. (too lazy to keep going) In 2009, we had 10 QBs with over 4,000 yards. Now As I showed, Manning was among the 4,000 yard passers even in the early 2000s, but his numbers are still inflated today due to the fact that this has become much more of a passer friendly league than in the past.
Favre's a better player then who? Manning? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA,,, yeah alright. And Braylon Edwards is better then Andre Johnson. Nice try. Not even close.
