I can see the JETS taking a small step backwards next season before taking a big leap forward. just a hunch. With the FA restrictions, draft needs to be a homerun, and produce guys that can contribute immediately. Schedule looks tough too.
The only REAL issue I see for the Jets is our HB situation. With TJ being kinda blah lately, and Greene and Leon being injury risk, the jets could completely implode, or assuming the HB situation works out alright (and we hopefully get someone this off season) I see no reason that the jets dont outright win the division.
Jets are thin on talent, with the backups not all that capable except on the defensive line. I'm thinking 9-7 or 10-6. If they stay healthy all year I'd go 11-5 or 12-4.
We went 9-7 this season. 9-7 with three heartbreaking losses that came down to the wire. Buffalo, jax, falcons. We were the better team all three times, just didn't perform. Not to mention the Miami losses, both of those games could have gone either way. If we had taken just 2 of those games and we are an 11 win team. Next years schedule is not nearly as rough as this years was. With sanchez rounding into a good qb, Leon and Jenkins coming back. The starters are in place. Next season we go 11-5, 12-4 and win the division.

NE (w) they are going to do a major over hall this off season and Brady, Moss, and Welker can't win by themselves anymore. 4. Balt (w) two similar teams, but we are better at all the things that make us similar 5. Cinnci (w) we already proved we are the better team 6. GB (l) I can't see going undefeated at home and they are only going to get better next year 7. Minn (w) I could see this result flip flopping with the GB game. But whoever they have at an is going to struggle against our D 8. Hou (w) another chance to shutdown the leagues top passing attack Away: 1. Buff (w) nochance Sanchez throws another five picks 2. Miami (l) I could see us loosing a heart breaker on the road here 3. NE (l) they are still going to be a tough out on the road 4. Clev (w) they showed some signs of life at the end of the season but we should still be leaps and bounds ahead of them 5. Pitt (l) should be a close game, but I'll give them the edge at home 6. Chic (w) Revis might have 5 picks himself against Cutler 7. Det (w) come on 8. Den (w) I'm not surewhen we play them, but I'd it's at the end of the season. Pencil in another w. 12-4. When I started writing this I though 12 wins would be tough, but after going game by game I think we have a chance to do even better, but we would need everything to go our way. Either way the east is ours in 2010.
Let me just say... I live in Indy. Colts fans are, for the most part, red-neck hillbillies. They aren't football savvy, either. And you didn't see a whole lot of sell-out crowds before the won their first Super Bowl. Their local radio sportscasters are pompous. Anyway, I'm saying 9-7 or 10-6. We should get at least a wild-card berth without all the help we got to get into the playoffs this year. I think this off-season's wheeling and dealing will be interesting. Our back-up CBs need to improve, that's for sure. I think NFL defenses will wise up and be more effective against the Wildcat, so I don't think Miami will be any better than a .500 club next season, although being Miami, I can see them beating us once (but not twice) next year. But I think we'll see a a couple of big plays from Brad Smith again. Anyone else think we have a damn hard schedule next year?! Lastly, I think we have the Thanksgiving game this year. God, I hope we play Cleveland or the Bills the Sunday before.
Death and taxes. I think 10-6 is reasonable, don't care much about the record seeing as the Jets wound up being a dark horse. Exciting end to an up and down season, but damn, was I ever miserable after the loss to the Colts. I'm still undecided if I'll even be watching the SB tomorrow, because that's how flavorless I feel about it. I'm usually at my rabid Jets' fan friend Vinnie's house, but I still haven't heard from him yet. He's probably still sedated and in restraints.
Every time there are high hopes for the Jets following a successful season, it doesn't end well (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, etc.) That being said, I'm cautiously optimistic. :jets:
Thin on talent wtf are you on. We have the number 1 Center and Corner in all of football. Ontop of that center we have the number 1 O line in all of football. Our D was number 1 with top talent such as scott harris revis big Jenkins and leon coming back. Talent isnt an issue on this team.
I think 10-6 or 11-5 so voted 11-5 because I am very optimistic overall. I believe we'll get to the playoffs for the second year in a row. I don't have a feel for what happens beyond that yet but am very confident that we get this done.
About 5-8 wins if sanchez is still starting. if they decide to start my boy clemens they win 12 + games and get their 2nd ring.
