this. I think Tate is the slot receiver we've been waiting for....but if K.Wilson is still on the board....that's gotta be the pick. Just my .02. Do you think Perrish Cox will go before Kyle Wilson? Nice mock overall, Jabba.
Yeh, considering we are a run first team, I think we can wait till the 2nd or third round to pick up a slot guy (SHIPLEY?) I think we either go CB or DE with our first pick.
I also wouldnt mind going CB with our first pick, then DE with our second, OG with our 3rd, then trade into the 4th round and get Shipley if he is still aval
We are and still will be a run first team, but as Sanchez matures he will be throwing the ball more. After Edwards and Cotchery, we have nothing. Tate would be an excellent pickup. Wilson would be my #2 option....
I believe that Brad Smith and Clowney could turn out to be very good players in this league if they put in the effort.
Tate would be nice, but a #1 pick on a 3rd WR is hard to bite on. Maybe if that third WR was Bryant... Love the Dan Williams pick for the Texans...they desperately need someone like him to let Smith, Okoye, and Williams shine.
I would take Mays, Weatherspoon, or Wilson before Tate. It would be very disappointing to se Ordick go one pick before us.
Huge Jabba fan but, damn I never liked Tate and all I hear is that he runs horrible routes and is a bust in the making.... Besides the fact that I think a WR, esecially a WR like that isn't what I'm hoping for in the 1st round.... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
Keller is pretty much the 3rd WR. If we're going to let the passing game mature, I would rather see the Jets bring in someone like Jordan Shipley or Freddie Barnes in the later rounds.
I don't understand why so many people ahve us picking a WR. If we're tendering Braylon, then we've got to believe he's our #1. JCo is entrenched at #2 and we've got Keller. Jabba, you've got enough of a track record for me not to outright boo you, but what's your reasoning? (Kiper I just assume is an idiot)
I'm also in the camp that would rather not use a 1st on a WR. BE, JC and Keller are nice weapons. A 3rd top-notch WR would be good, but a luxury. With the limited picks that we have in this draft, I'd much rather use the 1st rounder to help fill a more pressing need, ala pass rush/secondary help. If the Jets passed on K.Wilson for a WR not named Dez Bryant, I'd be a little bummed.
I like Tate and would love to see him on the Jets. However, if Kyle Wilson or even Perrish Cox is on the board then I think we have to take him. There is much more depth at the WR position then at the CB position. We could still get a good slot reciever in the 4th/5th rounds, while there is very little chance we can find a solid corner anywhere past the middle of the 2nd round.
Remember Cato, this is a statement coming from a guy that drafted a late-second round right tackle prospect in the first round for the Baltimore Ravens... When Hasty called Trent Williams the best player available with Golden Tate and Arrelious Benn still available, I almost threw up.
