I'm with you here. It helps to see how FA and the draft affects the line ups of both our team and those we will play next year. That Said i voted 10-6. I wish there was a 10-6; 11-5 option because thats where I am right now. Seeing as there was not I went with the lower option. I was a firm 8-8 guy comming into this season and belive, if healthy, we should make a good run at the division and possibly conference next year. Getting Jenkins and Leon back with another year under Sanchez's belt should of themselves be a huge boost to our roster.
We have a brutal schedule next season. I went with 9-7, 10-6, but I think that could be enough to win the division. I think the team has a high ceiling, depending on how well the offense performs.

Expect a 3-3 split. All of the other away games are winnable. Pittsburgh perhaps being the best of the away teams. Devener and Chicago have thier serious flaws. Detroit and Cleveland are very soft games. 4-1 prediction The Home Schedule is much tougher, but its at home. Baltimore, Greenbay, and Minnesota are all top notch teams. The Farve factor is huge in Minny and the team is not the same without him. Greenbay is on the verge of scary good. Cincy and houston we can beat, but they are still strong teams not to be taken for granted. 3-2 Prediction. That leaves us at a nice 10-6 record. I think its completely achiveable.
I'm saying 9-7 or 10-6. The Jets will not "sneak up" on anyone this year (not that I am saying they did this all the time '09, but they certainly did surprise a few teams with their tenacity and intensity) and there will be more footage on Sanchez out there for opposing DCs to see. The real challenge, I think, is within the division. Miami has a QB with an NFL arm in Henne. I know many on TGG like to bash on him, but he's probably going to improve this year (though who knows, footage of him is out there too.) Henne may actually get a real WR to work with via FA or the draft, that and a developing relationship with Devon Bess could help improve his production. The defense will benefit from another Parcells' draft. I know Miami is a popular punching bag around here, but they swept the Jets this year and could very well be improved next year. The Pats are going to be an even bigger threat, IMO. Brady clearly wasn't himself early in the season, but he started to show flashes of who he used to be as the year went on. It will be key for him to have Welker healthy/Moss still with some gas in the tank, but even without those 2 performing at their best I still think Brady will be better this year. The real area of improvement should be their defense. Chung, Williams (the DB, I think) and Brace should all see playing time this year and be improved. I've had discussions with a friend of mine, a diehard Jets' fan and fellow TGG poster, and have expressed to him my thoughts that the Pats are reloading on the defensive side of the ball. They've done an excellent job stockpiling draft picks and while the drafting prowess of BB is oft-overrated, his ability to develop players is not. I think the Jets and Pats contend for the division this year, but the Dolphins will play a large role in determining who wins that battle. I think the Jets' scheme will win out in the end, especially as Pats' rookies hit the wall, but it's not going to be easy by any means.
Pussy :smile: I think we're gonna have another big offseason, making nice draft picks and bending but not breaking the Final Eight free agency rules. I've read other posters saying they've read Scott saying year two of Rex's system is when the defense really takes off. Plus, we're gonna have Jenkins and Washington back which counts as two huge free agent signings. 11-5 or 12-4 is my choice
10-6, 11-5 one or the other, and we'll finally have consecutive post-season appearances, it'll be another bumpy road, I think we'll have our stretch of bad football, hopefully not against our division this time around. If everyone comes back, cept for Clemens then our ceiling is 12-4 for sure, all of this depends on the offense's progression
I wouldn't be as worried about the Pats as much as before, the offense is so predictable, Welker won't be 100%, Randy Moss will get shutdown as usual, how are they going to score? Let alone get down the field without Welker 100% and i'm sure Rex is thinking of ways to stop these crazy fast receivers (Garcon/Welker killed us this year) Fins have too many questions to address, until they acquire some big pieces to their defense/offense they won't be as good as advertised, No bias, I don't see the fins sweeping us again for a long time to be honest, those 2 games were such bullshit how we just gave them away to them, they won't get lucky this time around
Next year Miami goes back to being owned by the Jets like the 4 1/2 years before the Favre meltdown. Their time in the sun is done. :finssuck: :jets: Sorry....had to say that......
Good post, except Welker's health is a huge question mark. He tore 2 knee ligaments I believe in January this year. Unless he somehow has an 8 month recovery I don't see there's anyway he's ready by at least November. You saw when the Pats played us and the Ravens in the playoffs that when Welker doesn't play they're a completely different team and def. beatable. The wildcard tho is their defense. If BB brings in the right talent and finds a way to go back to the 3-4 (they ran predominately 4-3 last season) they could be a decent defensive club again
With a year under Rex and the improvments i see this team making in the off season i'd expect us to be no worse then a 10 win team and the winner of our division.
