That was my first thought too! Better not be tampering!

Who would be #1? I just can't see this happening.

Trade Clemens, Jones, and Lito + our 2nd round pick. Now we just need a name for our defensive backfield. How about... The Shutdown Islands...

That would be a great problem to have. Is that your reason for it not happening? Because we wouldn't be able to figure out who is #1?

I mean, I don't think it will happen, but that is a pretty weak reason.

The are building for the future so they want Lito, Clemens and Rhodes? Maybe a 1st and 2nd or 3rd but if you think Lito and Clemens can sweeten a pot your crazy. People just think because we dont want players other teams will in trades.

If the Jets had Revis & Aso in the backfield, I could play safety and the Jets would STILL get us to an SB...

i hope we get him, hey you never know

  10. W/ how aggressive both Tanny and Rex are..I wouldn't be surprised to see this happen. Rhodes and a #1 for Assomugha maybe something the Raiders bite on.

    THat's a SCARY Cb tandem.

I'm struggling to understand why Kellen Clemens has any trade value. Even for the Raiders. He is fucking awful.

Kellen could probably look pretty good on the Raiders...mainly because the sucktitude of talent in Oakland would completely overshadow him.

The thing about Kellen is that he doesn't make bad decisions, he is just incapable of proper execution. He faced one of the worst defenses in the NFL against Tampa Bay, and he did just enough to not fuck the game up. The running game and defense, as usual, carried us to a blowout. He misses wide open targets, he can't roll out of the pocket, I just don't see why anyone would accept his value in a trade package.

Oakland has a real screwed up QB situation.

And its really hard to tell how bad Clemens really is. I mean we never gave him a chance in NY. The only time the guy ever played was the 07 season (where the jets were AWFUL, 4-12) and we had virtually NO recievers (think Coles missed most of the season, Clowney was out for the season, and Cotchery was just starting to become decent)

Im not saying Clemens will ever be a starter, but who knows its not like Oakland has much better options atm.

Exactly what my first thought was. Ugh...
    ----------------

That said, if Crazy Al were insane enough to make a trade, it would cost at least our 1st rounder, plus probably a third rounder, plus players. The chances of us getting Asomugha without getting fleeced is slim. I'd probably still do it, but the chances are slim the deal would ever make it to the table. Especially now with the chances of tampering charges being around 99%.

Hell, we have to hand Al a draft pick for free thanks to NA's big mouth.

And I'm laughing too at people who are like "Yeah, we'll give them Clemens, Lito and some picks." Would you take Clemens, Lito and picks for Revis? Come on guys.

even Al Davis is not dumb enough to trade Aso to Jets. He also hates the Jets with a passion for previous reasons stated.

The thread title is a daydream and nothing more. I was guilty of dosing off upon glance and woke up soon as the thread loaded.

The only thing that can be taken seriously here is that the organization is starting to stand for something. Saying "the Jets" automatically gives players the idea of a loudmouthed badass who backs up his talk 9 times out of ten; and a locker room that bought into it off the bat.
