Yes thank you He won't be a LATE pick but I can see him being there at the middle-bottom of the 3rd. There are some safeties I like before him (but they'll go higher) but I think he would fill in perfectly in our scheme. Trade Kerry for a third, get Rolle with that 3rd... go do it Tanny! PS and if a guy like Burnett falls all the better
Dont know if thats going to happen I thought he was going on to attend Oxford... He is a very bright guy and wants to be a doctor.. A smart guy like that would be a good field general so i dont know. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BKgz0Bcz4I
He's smart and physically, but has to prove some things to me athletically before I'd even say he's a 3rd round guy. He was really solid at FSU, and would probably be the same in the NFL, but I wouldn't be begging for the Jets to get him. They need a kid that has some more coverage skills than I believe he has.
I don't think he'd have any trouble picking up the Jets complex defensive system. He'd be a solid draftee as long as we don't reach
Whoa, whoa, whoa...Myron Rolle was one of the most heavily recruited players in a long time. He's a heck of a talent. I'd take a lot of safeties in this year's class over him, but only because they haven't taken any time off. Myron Rolle has all of the physical tools to be a very good starter in the NFL, and he's ridiculously smart. Someone's going to get a steal.
I wouldn't take him in the first round, but he is certainly good enough to be taken mid-to-late second. The guy's a hell of a football player, and I believe he can play multiple positions in the NFL - strong safety or outside linebacker. I really think he'll be a starting safety in the NFL. He's a high character guy, with excellent work ethic and awesome measurables. Not playing for a year is what scares me the most - he's going to have to prove a lot today. I'll be watching closely. He's a very smart student and football player, so picking the game up again might come very easy for this kid. Myron Rolle has the ability to be a big time riser in this draft.
Was it neurosurgery? I heard he went for a master's in anthropology. Whatever. It's Oxford. If he's there in the fifth, that'd be swell for us. He won't be.
If he plays a hell of a game today, and works out well at the combine - it'd be swell for us if he was there in the second.
To get into the 3rd he will have to show better speed than he has in the forty. I love him. Jersey kid, smart, played well against good competion. He would have gone higher last year, at least round 3. Great size too. My big question for him is can he cover when we are playing the pats and colts.
I was going to say, wasn't he one of the top prospects of his class? I seem to remember him being the #1 recruit out of New Jersey.
Not just New Jersey. Myron Rolle was the #1 ATH prospect in the entire country. If he runs well, he'll shoot up boards - his performance this week at the Senior Bowl stood out the most to me. Great, great week.
Ok, just so I wasn't going crazy. I know he has the physical tools and he certainly has the intelligence to learn just about any scheme. His year out of the game didn't seem to hurt him too much yesterday. I can see him being a mid-round steal.
He's the smartest defensive back, maybe even defender ever. Whoever drafts him is going to get a hell of a mind in the secondary. Imagine this kid in the film room with Darrelle Revis. I still think if he runs in the 4.4s like he wants, he'll move ahead of a lot of guys and go in the second.
Yeah I think he'll be a second rounder The only question for me surrounding him is how many years he'll play in the NFL He'll probably have a shorter than average NFL career
...because he's smart? He wants to be a professional football player. That's always been his goal. Rolle didn't want to miss out on going to Oxford - a very, very small percentage of students get a chance to experience that. It made him a much more well-rounded student and person.
