And I want Gerald McCoy in Green and White. Can't always get what you want.

I don't think so. He's not a great route runner, but that has a lot to do with the offensive system that was in place at Cincinnati.

I think it'll take him about two or three years to contribute right away as a receiver in the NFL. He has the ability to have an immediate impact as a return man though.

They're pretty different. Mays hits like a truck, Kerry doesn't. Kerry is great in coverage, Mays struggled this year. Mays doesn't have any of the character/work ethic issues Kerry does.

He'd be really good in a deep zone.

Except dan williams may be there at 29, defensive line is certainly an area of need for this team, bring in your NT for the next 10 years and have jenkins teach him the position.

I like that idea, though I still think brandon graham will be the pick if he is there at 29.

...but you just said that he struggled in coverage?

    FYP.

He's a really talented athlete, but he's got horrible technique.

    Hater.

Mays is gonna be really good, especially if a coach like Rex takes him.

Emphasis mine. If Dan Williams is there at 29, it doesn't matter who else is available, the Jets need to draft him. I don't think Graham will last until the 29th pick, either - If the Jets are faced with picking between these two defensive beasts on draft day then they're blessed.

He's as good a route runner as there is from the Day 1 WRs IMO. I like him better than Tate as an option on Day 1...especially since I'm not dying to get a #3 WR in the 1st round.

Just because they're different in some ways, doesn't make Mays a good fit with the Jets.

I agree, there are better fits in this draft.

Nate Allen is the guy I want, but if Mays fell, I'd be pissed if we passed on him.

Are you seriously going to say that Mardy Gilyard is a better option than Golden Tate?

I do believe I already have. He's way more polished, way more experienced at WR, a bit more quick twitch, has better, more consistent hands...

He's also a better value right now since so many have Tate going in Round 1. If I had to pick between Tate at 29 or Gilyard in Round 2 I'd take Gilyard in round 2 every single time...

    D-Ware...please..rethink your post.

Golden Tate is clearly a bettr player.....it's not close.

Tate played in a Pro-system, not that Pop-gun Cincy offense. Gilyard needs to bulk up...he's a light weight.

Yeah, they're both great fits for us.

I'm ok with keeping Kerry, but I think if we do trade him for a late 2nd/early 3rd, we'll take Allen in the 1st or move down a few picks and take him.

If that were true I wouldn't hold the opinion I hold. Tate is clearly the more hyped player, but as to who's better...they're about even and I'd even give the slight edge to Gilyard, who is further ahead in his development as a WR.
