You think we're drafting a WR?

As long as we don't draft a RB then Woodhead has a good shot to be on the team. He did nothing this season not to deserve to be here.

How is anyone who has been on a team for 2 years considered TC fodder?

Woodhead is still a very young man that is still growing. I think once he starts to bulk up a bit he could become a much better player and quite possibly be a slot type WR, maybe even PR/KR.
The only problem I have with him is that hes too light-weight right now. Certainly glad hes been resigned.

Yes. Between the Rhodes situation and all of the RFAs we have this season, we're likely going to get a 3rd or 4th round pick back so there's our slot WR. Dexter McCluster, Freddy Barnes or Jordan Shipley would be available in at least the 3rd round.

Yea, he's got a shot but I don't think he gets too much done.

He spent his first year on the roster on IR. The Jets were legally required to keep him on the roster because he hurt himself in training camp. Half of this year, he spent on the practice squad, not the roster. This is his chance to prove himself on the team, but I'm not expecting too much. Right now, I think he has just about as much of a chance as David Clowney.

With Leon coming back I don't see much of a role for Woodhead.

Not sure it would be a good idea for him to bulk up more. He has got to be stacked.

What the hell's with all the hate towards Woodhead? When he was asked to do his job at WR he did it, and actually ot some nice 1st downs for us this year. It's only a 1 year deal, that's less than $400,000.

The JETS are going to be VERY limited in regards to what free agents they can sign. May as well lock up some RB depth (this past sunday was a good example) now, and focus on feeling more important roles with the few FAs the JETS can sign.

Who knows how Leon's leg will be, or the mileage on Jones (and his knee). Shonn Green is now the #1, but after that who knows?

I don't hate him, I just don't see him making the team, and I'll be pissed if we pass on a good prospect because of him.

We won't pass on a good prospect because we have him... He's more of a security blanket in case we aren't able to draft the WR we want and in case Leon isn't ready to go by next season.

I am not Woodhead... But being a small white boy myself, I love the shit out of him for being apart of my favorite team..

He has amazing work ethic and could be crucial to the team next year.

Out of curiosity... did you choose 77 because it's Big Jenks n? ?

My biggest problem is his running style is that of a power back... he isn't "shifty" at all... that isn't helpful if you are 195lbs... it also isn't helpful in the transition to slot WR.

But I'm cool with giving him another off-season to prove himself... the more hard workeers we have through TC the better this team will get.
