According to the TheGreenTitan twitters page- The Jets re-signed Woodhead to a 1 year contract worth $395,000 plus bonuses on January 26, 2010.
For 400K, I dont mind him staying around for one more year..Never know, he could have a breakout season?
I love Woodhead. Sure he might never be a stud but his upside and flexibility is worth the tiny salary.
I still feel if they would dump the ball off to him in the flat he could really take off. He has awesome initial burst.
Why? Half a season is not long enough to try to turn him into a slot receiver, something we currently lack.
Bullshit... Woodhead caught more passes than Wright and the beloved B. Smith on a 10.9 YPC average. He also has a 4.3 YPC average which isn't all that atrocius for someone who has been practicing as a WR and not a RB for the year. Let's see if this slot WR project turns into something or not... I hope it will... but as every project you never really know. I don't get all the hate... first everybody loves him... then he comes on the field and does decently (because when playing on O he NEVER screwed ANYTHING up)... and everyobdy hates him... are you guys all on your period? PS Plus 400K is almost the league minimum and almost everyone who gets signed for the off-season has that kind of contract! In regular people money it's a lot but in the NFL (where the minimum i 320K) that's peanuts.
Undrafted FA making $400K/year vs. #6 overall pick making millions in guaranteed bonuses?? Nope, not seeing the similarities here.
