With him and Scott on the same team, do you think they would spend all their time yelling at each other or wold they get along like Fulton Reed and Dean Portman?
Can he still rush the passer? Then I don't care that he's an ass, I'll learn to root for him. If he can't rush the passer anymore, screw him.
those were my exact thoughts when i made this thread ... but then i read an article yesterday that said a few times when the fins sent in someone to replace porter on 3rd downs, he would wave them back to the sidelines. this was after his benching too that type of insubordination is unacceptable!
Joey is still a good player. Miami used him wrong though. They lined him at OLB with JT and they don't compliment each other well. 2006 Jason Taylor had a career year. 2007 they line him and JP together and they don't do well miami goes 1-15. 2008 JT is gone and Joey gets 17 sacks. JT comes back and they line him up with Joey and Joey's numbers drop again. Joey is still a talented player. However he's got a motor mouth and him and he wants to start and play all 3 downs. You try to substitute someone for him and there will be problems. If the Jets pick him up and don't play him every down he'll make trouble. If the Jets want to pick him up I wouldn't be upset. But honestly I doubt Miami just cuts him. He's still under contract and I doubt they want him going to NY or NE. I expect he'll get traded to KC for a bucket of warm spit or maybe to Parcell's buddy Mangini in Cleveland.
back to the article at hand, Porter aside becase he is a major dick and deserves to rot... back to the Dumervill concept. He is a proven pass rusher, he is someone teams need to gameplan for, I would absolutely love to see him in Green. granted no idea what it would cost to get it done...
