Juice was part of the problem, Mike Locksley leaving Illinois to become New Mexico's HC didn't help Benn.
Anything can happen in the draft as electric said alot of guys drop off for whatever reason so there really isnt a point in saying some one wont be there because you never know.
I would say looking at various reports that there is 0.0001% chance of Wilson being there in the second, he may not even be there when we pick in the first. he seems to be getting morepress and plaudits all the time. Iupati seems more likely as Guards do tend to fall to the end of the first no matter how good they are. The thing I always enjoy in the draft is when players make a sudden splurge - my mate is a huge niners fan and he spent the whole of the Spring begging the niners to pick Aaron Rodgers and then out of nowhere Alex Smith's stock starts to rise like crazy and he ends up gonig to the niners and they have pretty much sucked ever since.
Kyle Wilson is getting press...at the Senior Bowl...we still have a lot of time left. Before this week, 85% of the football world had no idea who he was. Guys like Perrish Cox and Donovan Warren have better measurables, so they could jump ahead of him. Brandon Ghee is another corner that has a chance to rise. I've read reports that fringe mid-rounder Jacoby Ford out of Clemson had a lot of success against Wilson yesterday.
Yep, that's whats so nuts (and entertaining) about the draft, it seems so subject to rumour, press and groundswell of opinion that you see teams seeming to panic into drafting players that were not even on their radar a short time ago.
I would love to see Iupati in green. Do you think Tracy is big enough and strong enough to play OLB here?
dream draft anyone? you had me at Iupiati, Wilson, Barnes. with some late round steals. you really think Barnes falls that far? I hope so.
Freddie Barnes deserves to be at least a third round pick, but since he wasn't invited to the combine, he'll have to impress teams in private workouts. Speed is his biggest question mark, and Barnes doesn't have good timed speed.
Two of the bests guards over the last decade, Alan Faneca and Steve Hutchinson, are both 6'5. I don't see why an extra inch should be a concern.
The only concern is EVERYONE at the senior bowl is raving about him... Mayock, Linehan, the other draft guy, the bloggers... argh, would you all please shut up and let him fall to #29 please ?
That's a plus, not a minus. Faneca, Steinbach, and Faneca...3 of my top 5 G's and all 6'5 or 6'6. Mankins is 6'5 too... Iupati falling to us would be.......he's the only OL that I buy as a likely elite pro...
Well, Linehan and Schwartz have no shot at him, because their Lions have too high of a pick. If Iupati has a great combine, we could see him go in the teens, a lot like Steve Hutchinson did.
