I like the 2 guys you targeted. Glad you came to your senses about the slot reciever thing. If either guy is around at 1 I'd be happy. I might go for the DB first, because we have enough in the back of the draft to get a guard. The question is can he play RT? If we determine he can, that flexibility would bump him up above a DB.
I don't think anything's been officially announced on that trade. In fact, I heard a rumor that it's a 2011 pick.
Very nice and thanks for the effort. the guard at 29 seems reasonable...... i wouldn't be surprised if the jets mortgaged the 2011 draft a bit to re-enter this years 3rd and 4th rounds. we need NFL ready guys in there and it appears we are built to win now. jil
Kyle Wilson has always been a top tier corner in my eyes. Wilson going in the first really depends on how guys like Brandon Ghee and Donovan Warren workout.
Agreed I like Wilson a lot, and it may speak to your evaluating players ability but a couple of those guys that you've targeted are having great weeks and may be going higher then they were a week ago after solid showings.
I guess a TE in the 7th isn't that big a deal, but I think Hartsock played well down the stretch. Do we really need to spend a pick on another TE that run blocks well and DOESN'T catch? I think I'd rather take my chances on a Punter at that point.
I decided to go defensive back over defensive end, and in the later rounds I just didn't see an end worthy of being picked. Alex Carrington put in good work yesterday, but Lane had a lot of trouble getting off blocks.
If Uh Oh plays himself into a mid-round spot this week (it's looking like he will), I will officially switch the pick to Penn State tight end Micky Shuler Jr.
Great job on this Mr. E. I saw the kid from Bowling Green in their Bowl Game this year and I seem to remember him having a big game. Hey, what do you think of the WR from Illinois - Aurrelius Benn (sp?) ??
Boo Robinson will probably be there in the 4th or 5th round. I heard he's somewhere in the 290s now after the season - time to start eating. Much like Kyle Wilson, Brandon Graham is having a stellar week at the Senior Bowl. If he keeps it up, and performs well at the combine, he could be an end of the first pick (which is good for us)
Every game is a big game for Freddie Barnes - he had one of the most productive years ever. Arrelious Benn is a beast. After the combine, I could see him becoming the top receiver prospect. If Illinois had halfway decent quarterback play, Benn would be a top 15 lock right now.
This really would be a dream mock. The only way I could see this getting better is if we somehow finagled a trade to get a pick to use on Wootton or Alualu. The problem I have here is that aside from Iupati, I just can't see these players dropping this far. Kyle Wilson in the late second? Freddie Barnes at the end of the 5th? Even Hoomanawanui being a few picks shy of Mr. Irrelevant sounds a little off to me. I wholeheartedly agree with every pick here; I just think that it would take a lot of luck for the cards to fall this way. But if they did, it would be nothing short of awesome
I would flip out if we got Iupati, Wilson, and Barnes. Those are 3 guys on my draft wish list, I would be very happy with that. As usual, nicely done MrE
At the end of the day in the 6th ans 7th round you (should) go for the BPA... but when you make a mock you'll have no idea who the BPA is so you pick someone who you like in a position you need. It's not true that Uh Oh can't catch... it that Juice can't throw
Yeah, I'm just talking in generalities. I haven't really gotten into Draft mode since we were this late into the Playoffs. But Hartsock really got his shit together towards the end of the season. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back. Now, a Punter...we're gonna need one for sure. Not sure who'd be available, but I think it's not too crazy of an idea to try to draft one.
Yeah, Juice Williams was brutal. That had to have hurt his production. I imagine he'll be a fast-riser after the Combine and private workouts.
