This a mock I've been working on for a little while. I wanted to wait until after our season was over to put it out.

While I'm hoping for a lot movement in our draft, I've decided to stay away from trades because there's no telling how any of that will turn out.

As you guys will be able to tell after reading through it, there will be no possible way to select a player for each of the positions that we would like to see in green and white next season. The Jets' staff will be extremely limited with their selections if moves aren't made.

I'm looking forward to the replies and the discussions ahead.

1st: 6'5 330 Mike Iupati, Offensive Guard, Idaho

    - Iupati is the best interior lineman in the this draft. Our offense relies on the run, and Iupati has everything you look for in a beastly run-blocking guard: size, power, athleticism. Guard isn't a highly regarded position, so unless a team sees him as a tackle prospect, he might fall to our pick.

Other possibility in the first: WR Golden Tate out of Notre Dame

2nd: 5'10 195 Kyle Wilson, Cornerback, Boise State

    - Wilson is a New Jersey native that has quickly become the best corner on the west coast. As an overlooked recruit coming out of high school, Wilson committed to mid-major powerhouse Boise State and he never looked back. K-Dub is the real deal at corner: fast as hell, great hips, ridiculous recovery speed, and he loves contact. Wilson has also established himself as one of the best return men in the country.

Other possibility in the second: OLB Brandon Graham out of Michigan

5th: 6'2 206 Freddie Barnes, Wide Receiver, Bowling Green

    - Barnes had one of the most productive seasons in the history of college football this year. However, he was not invited to the combine and his speed was the biggest question mark about his game. The hell with that...Barnes is a premier route runner and he knows how to find the endzone. The fact that he's a mid-major prospect that won't appear at the combine incredibly hurts his stock.

Other possibilities in the fifth: CB Amari Spievey out of Iowa

6th: 6'3 242 Adrian Tracy, Outside Linebacker, William and Mary

    - Tracy, who is DE/LB hybrid player for the Tribe, is supposed to get into the backfield, and no one in the FCS does it better. Tracy is a machine, racking up double digit TFLs in every season as a starter. As one of the few FCS players invited to the combine, Tracy really has a chance to make a name for himself.

Other possibility in the sixth: DL Linval Joseph out of ECU

7th: 6'5 270 Michael Hoomanawanui, Tight End, Illinois

    - Hoomanawanui, nicknamed Uh Oh, is the bulldozing tight end that our offense is lacking. After guys like Jermaine Gresham, Aaron Hernandez, Anthony McCoy, Dennis Pitta, and Rob Gronkowski are off the board, we won't see many tight ends selected, so Hoomanawanui will likely stay on the board for a quite a while. His lack of receiving skill will also cause teams to stay away from him.

Other possibility in the seventh: P Robert Malone out of Fresno State

Really good mock. We're getting versatile, productive, high character young players. Wilson has the potential to be a #2, I think Iupati is the best OG prospect since Hutch, Uh Oh is the perfect #2 TE, and Tracy/Barnes are excellent late round picks....

I didn't say that at all. At this point, each and every one of these picks is possible.

Mike Iupati should go somewhere between 25-32.

Kyle Wilson could go anywhere from the back end of the first to the back end of the second. That's how jumbled up the cornerback class after Haden is...

Not going to the combine is going to really hurt Freddie Barnes' shot at being drafted as high as he should.

Adrian Tracy is a late round project player and Uh Oh offers nothing as a receiver...

The highest I see him going is in the 6th round. I just don't think we'll see that may tight ends drafted.

After the top tier TEs like Greshman, Gronkowksi, and Hernandez are gone, the need for tight ends will die down.

Anthony McCoy, Dennis Pitta, and Ed Dickson should be the next level of tight ends drafted.

Andrew Quarless and Jimmy Graham are some sleepers to look at.

In the end, it was a toss up between Shuler Jr. and Hoomanawanui - Uh Oh has better size, so I went with him.

I didn't think anyone was picked anywhere crazy...Iupati could last 'til 29...that would be nice.

I thought size didn't matter :p (yes there is an inherent sexual joke in this phrase)

    Looks great to me.

I'm a little shocked though that you don't have us drafting any d linemen since you've been adamant about what a strong year this is for 3-4 defensive ends. But you're right- if all these guys are available at these spots, that's great value.

I'm pretty high on Tyson Alualu right now. I wouldn't mind seeing us take him in the second and a guy like Spievey in the fifth. I don't know much about Barnes, but I've been listening to the discussions here and I've liked what I heard.

Hoomanawanui would probably be the most serviceable 7th round pick we've ever had.

I really am excited about the talent and depth of the 3-4 linemen in this class, but our team is lacking picks in the two rounds (3rd and 4th) that will more than likely be filled with a lot of these guys. If we don't acquire a pick in at least one of these rounds we're going to miss out on guys like: Vince Oghobaase, Tyson Alualu, Alex Carrington, Arthur Jones, Mike Neal, and Corey Wootton.

Like I said before I started naming my picks, with the limited amount of picks that the Jets have, it's not going to be possible to bring in some of the positions/players that a lot of us want.

Little article from the Seattle Times on Iupati.

The more I hear about this guy, the more inclined I am to dip into the 2011 draft, just in case we need to jump ahead of the Cowboys or something. He just seems to fit what we want this team to be so well.

Pay attention to the bolded part. :)

    Iupati and Alualu in 2010!!!

That's really good news for us that Iupati struggled at left tackle. The only way he'll fall out of our range is if he looks impressive at tackle.

I'll have to make some room on my bandwagon if things continue like this :p

Seriously, I'd love to have them on the Jets roster but I don't think Iupati is getting past Dallas...

I think Jerry Jones is too stupid to take Mike Iupati. I have a feeling he wants a safety...Earl Thomas is a homegrown prospect, so the Cowgirls could try to move up a few spots and take him.

Great selection of players at position's of need.

I would have liked to see a DE added to the mix, limited picks and other priorities came into play. Free Agency is an option, trading down to get more picks and picking up a Alex Carrington or Austen Lane (Both have looked good this week) would be an ideal scenario.

I hope Tanny and Rex realize that interior offensive line is a need with Faneca/Woody on the downside of their career's.

It's early and who's to say Iupati won't be at #29. I've mentioned before guards are usually not drafted in Rd 1. New England was interviewing Iupati hot and heavy yesterday, but they would be foolish not to draft defense in rd 1. 50/50 chance Iupati is available.

I think Wilson's stock will rise be out of touch in late rd 2, Brandon Ghee could be a nice option in rd 2.

Looking at the Jet's situation, not having 3rd & 4th Round picks really hurt our abilty to get specific players.

As always, You and I target a lot of the same players.

A week ago this was probably do-able, however after the Senior Bowl practices it looks like Wilson is going to be a first round pick and Michael Hoomanawanui earlier then the 7th round.

Either way I like the plays you target and would be thrilled if this worked out.

I love Iupati in the first.

Barnes in the 5th seems unlikely but as you said, not being in the Combine might hurt him enough to let him drop.

I doubt Wilson is available in the bottom of the second but if we can get a couple of picks from RFA trades/Rhodes then we might be able to grab him. I think Graham or Boo Robinson are much more likely with our current 2nd.

are the combine invites over? I thought the "lists" were still open... it's impossible that the leading WR doesn't get an invite... some crappy players go to the combine!

Wait, E, where did that 7th come from? I thought we officially lost it for the O'Connell trade.

I think there's a 90% chance we trade down at the moment... if Tate, Iupati, Ducasse, some good OLBs and some good CBs are all available when we pick we'll trade down to the top of the second.
