Here is the list of the top rookie QBs in the post season

    2 Dan Marino 1983 Dolphins Record (0 - 1) 15 / 25 193 yds 2 TDs 2 INTs 77.6 rating
    3 Matt Ryan 2008 Falcons Record (0 - 1) 26 / 40 199 yds 2 TDs 2 INTs 72.8 rating
    4 John Elway 1983 Broncos Record (0 - 1) 10 / 15 123 yds 0 TDs 1 INTs 64.0 rating
    5 Ben Roethlisberger 2004 Steelers Record (1 - 1) 31 / 54 407 yds 3 TDs 5 INTs 61.3 rating
    6 Bernie Kosar 1985 Browns Record (0 - 1) 10 / 19 66 yds 1 TDs 1 INTs 56.0 rating
    7 Jim Everett 1986 Rams Record (0 - 1) 9 / 18 136 yds 1 TDs 2 INTs 54.2 rating
    8 Joe Flacco 2008 Ravens Record (2 - 1) 33 / 75 437 yds 1 TDs 3 INTs 50.8 rating
    9 Shaun King 1999 Buccaneers Record (1 - 1) 28 / 61 320 yds 1 TDs 3 INTs 47.2 rating
    10 Pat Haden 1976 Rams Record (1 - 1) 19 / 43 313 yds 1 TDs 5 INTs 37.4 rating
    11 Daryle Lamonica 1963 Bills Record (0 - 1) 9 / 24 168 yds 1 TDs 3 INTs 36.8 rating
    12 Todd Marinovich 1991 Raiders Record (0 - 1) 12 / 23 140 yds 0 TDs 4 INTs 31.3 rating

This guarantees nothing, but it is important to note that nearly every QB on that list had very successful careers and two QBs won 2 SBs each.

It proves that Mark Sanchez is unfazed by the big games. I am in love with him. Homo? No homo? I don't give a shit.

We just need to get back in the Playoffs again. We do that and you let Sancho run the show. The future is bright.

He should have stayed in school - clearly wasn't ready for the NFL.

It just goes to show how much he came of age during the playoffs this year.

I think everyone who was calling for Sanchez to be benched after a few tough games this season can now officially STFU

And there in lies the problem.

Nothing is guaranteed about the Jets getting to PO again. That's my only fear. Another Jenkins loss, another LW loss, you never know. Sad but true.

However, I am still hopefull and look forward to a great decade of Jets Football.

Pretty much. If we're going to be getting into the Playoffs as a Wildcard 9-7, 10-6 team, it's gonna be tough to match what we did this year because we got hot at just the right moment. It's so hard to turn it on at the right time for any team after a long, strenuous, season. What we need to go is win the Division and compete with the top seeds for home-field advantage. It's tough, but I think we've got the pieces in place for a nice run at it. Still, even if we sneak into the Playoffs, I'll take those chances. Look at Peyton Manning and his PO's appearances. Hard to believe he's en route to get a 2nd SB ring. It's all coming together for us tho.

    look at that top 5.

Holy fuck. Don't tell me its not a sign of the future.

What is interesting is that Marino, Elway, Big Ben, Drunk Bernie, and Shaun King went to or won SBs.

Kosar was Aikman's backup. King was Brad Johnson's backup.

I remember when Chad Pennington was the career passer rating leader of the NFL. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, here.

What I wanted to see from Sanchez was improvemtn as the season progressed. Surprisingly, he improved and showed poise during a deep post-season run. That, in addition to a lot from the coaches that I loved, makes this season a smashing success to me.

I see what you are saying, but we all know Sanchez is better than Chad Pennington....................................

To think that if we didn't make it to the playoffs Sanchez's last real game would've been against the Falcons. Yeesh!

    scary isn't it?

We would never know that he enjoys the big game atmosphere and stays focused on what is important.
