Yeah, terrible non-call, but as someone pointed out, it was on the holding call, so it would have been offsetting penalties and they would have replayed the down. (Didn't we get a first down anyway, right after that - on the throw to Keller on 2nd and 17???? I'm not sure)
It should have been roughing the passer AND unsportsmanlike conduct and maybe the guy gets ejected. It was blatant. I've seen the Jets lose playoff games where Gastineau hits the QB 1/4 second after the ball was released and gets a roughing call. But they don't call that on Irsay and Pollian, who control the largest bloc of owners and basically hired both Tagliabue and Goodell. Total BS call. The league will fine him this week -- whoopee.
Enough wih this "refs hate us" crap, refs are humans which means that they are prone to make mistakes. We lost because we play arguable the best qb of all time and he shrewed our defense. Sanchez is gong to be the real deal, but what wanna know is if soembody can list or free agents and how the uncapped year is going to affect our fa signings.
Nobody is dumb enough to say that a call there would have given the Jets a win. It would have offset a penalty on the Jets though. People are pissed over the fact that if Manning gets hit like that there would be a criminal investigation over it. It was a horrid missed penalty call. Pretty simple fact. It is maddening. What can we do other then complain about it.
