Mistimed his jump, from what I recall (already deleted the game off my DVR).

He played it pretty well but just didn't make the play. Imagine intercepting Peyton at the half and going into the locker up 17-6.

That's the kind of non-play that turns a game around.

Completely incorrect. What Coleman needed to do was not jump. Had he simply stayed in stride he would've been able to make a play on the ball and deflect it.

Agree that this play completely changed the game.

Coleman has sucked, sucks, and will always sucks. He really can't cover anybody. Why he is still on the team is a perpetual mystery. When you see him lined up on a wide receiver, there should be no doubt in your mind who the ball is going to. If anybody can recognize weaknesses, its Manning. Remember when Lowery limped off and Shepp came in? And the very first play was like a 50 yard bomb to Garcon right over Shepp's fucking head?

Coleman has to learn how to play CB in the NFL.

We've been ragging on Coleman for like 3 years, I don't understand how he is still playing, I think the biggest reason our D was so good the past few weeks was because he wasn't playing anymore. He is beyond awful.

you're assuming Coleman has the skills to play in the NFL......that's where the disconnect of this thread began.

The most frustrating thing on that play and all the plays was that on many of them, the receivers weren't wide open, or even really open at all. Some of them, of course were on pretty wide open plays. But most were on just unbelievable throws by Manning. Really incredible throws. The guy is just a robot when he is on, and it's rare that he isn't. Goddamn. That man is good.

Coleman had help over top by the Safety...Coleman played his position perfectly... It was a perfect throw to the inside shoulder to a rcvr in stride...

I thought that pass play was the play of the game. Just a perfectly thrown ball.

Forget the throw and Coleman's (im)position for a sec...

what exactly has he done (e.g. stats, big plays, etc) to show that he belongs on an [what's supposed to be and what's striving towards] an elite D?

Every year he's been in the NFL, he's been picked on and given up big plays in crucial moments.

We need to seriously upgrade the CB position - starting with Coleman - because passing teams that have followed the NFL's trend will continue to pass on us (opposite Revis), whether we find an elite pass-rusher or not.

It really was...it was indefensible in my opinion. As it happened I said out loud, "perfect throw"

and its rare to see a pass that you just cannot defend

I agree with almost everybody here. Drew Coleman is PATHETIC. He never makes a play and is a complete liability. He should never stop on the field in Green and White ever again.

You're right. Coleman needs to get a pink slip this offseason.

Outside of the offensive line no other group played as well as he secondary IMO. I don't ever oppose to upgrades at any positions but I think if we can get some pass rushers, the current group would look a lot better.

But he COULD have defended it. He mistimed his jump/route and let a perfect pass get through.

    That's the whole point.

He was in position to intercept or knock it down and did NEITHER.
