It's pretty widely accepted that the Colts defense is based on speed. They don't have very much size on their squad. They were were in the bottom all of football in the league in rushing yards allowed. At the same time, they shut down the Ravens strong running game last week. They gave the Jets running game a real hard time while missing a few of their defensive starters for the entire game in their first matchup. What do they do to make it difficult to stop the run?

Also, the Jets running game takes a few series to get going because they need to see how the defense is attacking them. Does that mean the Jets have a better chance of getting on track early on because they played a few weeks ago? There could be an argument for that, but the Jets didn't have a fast start against the Bengals only 1 week after playing against them.

You'd think the Jets would be able to run right over this defense, but it won't be nearly that easy.

You will see more Greene in this game early since Jones has really been struggling. Maybe his knee/ankle is worse than they are letting on because he is not exploding through holes. Greene early, I hope, will generate some favorable down and distance situations early.

The Ravens had 87 rushing yards averaging 4.6 yards per run.

The Colts didnt shut down the rushing game, the Ravens just never opened up for business.

I think they will stack the box, stop the run and take their chances that a rookie QB will choke under the pressure.

Damn, hopefully the Colts don't see this post because I'm pretty sure this approach hasn't been thought of yet. We're fucked, the formula is out!

It must suck to be a patsie fan watching this game. No matter who wins you aren't happy, because
#1 it will be a team that you hate
#2 you have nothing to root fro but golf
    #3 your dynasty is over
#4 you are probably eating a bowl of baked beens watching this game at a store front window, b/c the electricity in your basement apartment was shut off

"I think they will stack the box, stop the run and take their chances that a rookie QB will choke under the pressure."

Teams have stacked the box against the Jets all year, and they've still managed to have more yards on the ground than any other team. Stacking the box by itself doesn't work. In my opinion, the only thing that stops the Jets running game is the Jets falling behind by too much. Just like the only thing that stops the Jets defense is turnovers.
