Why would Tanny do Fatcessa the favor of appearing on his ignorant, Jet-bashing, ridiculous excuse for a sports radio show? All Fatcessa does is kill the Jets and their fans, making up nonsensical stats and arguments to support his position. Nobody from the Jets organization should be giving this fat piece of shit the time of day, let alone appear on his program. Maybe he would tone it down if he realized the other sports station in town (1050) was exclusively getting the chance to speak with the team, while he got no opportunity at all.
First things first you are wrong. 770 WABC is the sister station to 1050 ESPN Radio. WABC & ESPN are owned by Disney. 880 is the sister station to WFAN. Get your facts right. Francesa has lost it. As a few other people have said, I haven't listened to Francesa in a few years. But when the Jets win a big game, as they did against the Bengals and the Chargers - I'm psyched, I'm enthusiastic and excited. I wanna hear and read all about it and revel in it for a few days. So I turn on WFAN, naively expecting maybe something about what a GREAT story it is, a Cinderella story about the only rookie QB in the playoffs winning a big game, and for a rookie head coach at that. I would have appreciated some positive mention of how the Jets never gave up, never lost faith in themselves, their teammates, their system. I would have expected some congratulations to fans who have steadfastly endured decades of heartbreak - I mean even the Giants fans at work said it was great that the Jets were having some success, even my WIFE said, "Good fro you, you fans deserve this". I would have expected someone to point to the young guys emerging - Sanchez, Greene, Keller. There are a hundred positive angles a sports guy could have played up - the clutch play of Rhodes since he's been benched, how Sanchez' play has settled down and become more controlled, the pro-bowl caliber play of the O-linemen, how Mangold has turned into one of the best Centers in football, how Rex has turned around the attitude and expectations in just one year, how his defensive schems have befuddled even the most prolific QBs and offensive teams, and of course - the lock-down play of Darrelle Revis. But instead, Fransesa takes the opportunity to rain all over our parade, crap all over our franchise, to insult and trivialize our fans. What a shame for NY sports this guy is. He could have taken the high road, especially after the playoff victories. He could have emphasized the positive achievements and acknowledged the long awaited joy and excitement that Jets fans and NYers are feeling. But instead he's poisoned the airwaves with his jealousy and condescension. He's proven himself to be too petty to be taken seriously and too biased to be rewarded with an audience. Who needs to listen to his poison during this playoff run - a run that still has a very good chance of being historic. Francesa has staked out his territory regarding the Jets. I'll leave him to his own poisonous, miserable, insufferably arrogant and self-centered space. He's not on board with the Jets, thats fine. Good riddance. I have no use for him, and will make a point not to tune him in. I don't need his negativity, especially now when we're so energized about our team, our success, our expectations and our future. Francesa is unwatchable He basically sets himself up for a win/win situation Says how the Jets are so much more confident this week and then they were in week 16 vs the Colts. Says the Colts might be worse. So if the Jets beat the Colts this week he'll say the Jets still got a gift into the playoffs, they still couldn't have won that game. If the Jets lose he'll say ha ha they couldn't even win when they were more confident and better.
