Well, you are comparing and entire unit to an entire unit, not the match up. Match up is where the game becomes real close. Indy and Jets are one dimensional offenses and are good at it. Jets D ranks better at Indys one dimensional passing attack than Indys D does against the Jets one dimensional ground game. Indy is last in the league in running the ball and Jets are second I believe in passing the ball.

Ravens run game is not comparable to the Jets. Their OL isn't as good either IMO. They abandoned the run game too early in the game and thats why they were unsuccessful. Ray Rice averaged almost 5 ypc in the game and you don't abandon the run game if its getting you 4-5 yards a carry unless you're in a two minute drill situation.

    QB - Colts
    RB - Jets
    OL - Colts
    TE - Colts
    WR - Colts

    DL -Colts
    LB - ColtsDB - Jets
    ST - Jets

    Coach: Colts
    Kickers: Colts
    Game Location: Colts

WOW ... you're not serious, are you?

Take off the blue goggles for a minute ...

OL -- Maybe you haven't heard ... We have 3 pro-bowlers on our line, including the 1st Team All - Pro Center. 4 of our guys were 1st round picks. They lead the league's #1 rushing attack.

LB -- Really? You have better LB's than our 2nd team ALL-PRO David Harris, Bart Scott and Calvin Pace??? Where are you hiding them?

K - Matt Stover is not better than Jay Feeley... JF 83.3% - Long 55 ... MS 81.8% - Long 43. I'm not in love with our Punter ... so let's call that even.

COACH - If you're talking about Jim Caldwell ... not really. If you're talking about the REAL coach of your team, Peyton Manning ... maybe.

    What history shows us...

In the last 10 years the #1 defense in the regular season has won the Superbowl exactly 0 times.

I guess defense really does win championships, just not in football!

Counting all regular season games the Jets scored 112 more points than they gave up.

The Colts counting the two games that we didnt really play scored 109 more points than they gave up.

If the Colts would have played both games with all the starters who knows what would have happened.

But, if you look at the stats up to the week we played each other this is what you have.

The Jets scored 282 points and gave up 221 a difference of 61 points for them.

The Colts scored 394 points and gave up 248 a difference of 146 points for them.

That means up until the game verses the Jets, the Jets were averaging winning by 4.35 points per game.

The Colts were averaging winning by 10.42 points per game.

    Thanks for the useless info-

Ask the Ravens and the Bears how far their defenses carried them, oh and the Giants too. You don't have to be number 1 to have a good defense. Top 5 will do.

Pittsburgh has won two very recently with great DEFENSE.

Your points are not relevant to anything.

    Are you serious?

Why not compare last two wks when the Jets badly needed wins?

I couldn't bother searching all that info you gave him. He is such a joke! Giants went to a couple of SBs, Ravens won one, Steelers won a couple and even Patriots had a really good when they were winning SBs. Tampa Bay and Bears were right there too.

To be honest, I don't think there is that big of a difference in the defenses. I will give the edge to the Jets, but not by a wide margin. The Colts LB's are faster, but they can lay them out with the best of them. Did you see little Gary Brackett blow up the 325lb linemen on the screen pass then drill the RB? Clint Session is a wicked hitter. The Jets have the best CB in all of football in Revis, but overall the Colts defensive backfield is very good and with the rookies is actually better than last year. As far as O-lines, the Jets are much better at runing the ball, but few teams can match the Colts in pass protection. Once again they led the league in fewest sacks and might have actually set a record this year. Considering how much the Colts throw the ball that's pretty impressive.

What motivation? Because Ryan likes to play the "us against the world" card? I can counter that the Colts are just as movtivated from last years loss or the fact that a lot of talking heads are going with the Jets. In the pros that stuff lasts for a few plays and then talent takes over.

Actually, the Ravens came out running in the third and were still trying to run the ball late in the game. His ypc was inflated by two decent runs in the 4th when the Colts were playing pass first and run second.

If the Jets D is truly better than the Colts O and the Jets O is better than the Colts D, why are the Colts favored?

BTW....Colts ST is pretty good on the kicking side. McAfee typically kicks it into the end zone and he's been booming his punts with hang time. Jets will need to try and get another decent kick return to help their O with field position.

There's no green goggles over anything I'm saying. The Jets have the number one offensive line in the league, undisputed by anybody, and proven easily by the numbers. Sack numbers aren't as much a function of pressure as they are whether your quarterback gets rid of the ball... which Manning does.

I'm recalling a Curtis Painter fumble that was a direct result of Calvin Pace bull rushing the hell out of your left tackle. (Please don't mention Freeney's two hits on Sanchez...no one was blocking him on those plays, as Sanchez failed to adjust his coverage).

Whether your ego can take it or not the Jets are superior by a substantial margin on the offensive line and on the defense as a whole. No one but Colts fans seem to have any beef with that.

Not trying to make excuses for the Pace sack but the COLTS starting LT Charlie Johnson was not active for that game. No Johnson's not great but better than Ugoh. COLTS best LT was first round pick Tarik Glen who retired after the superbowl win in 2006. Johnson was 5th or 6th round pick Ugoh was a second round pick who was supposed to be the new LT but never has lived up to the job.

Everyone in the media seems to believe that "God" had something to do with the Jets winning in the postseason. Just saying, if that were even possibly true why would we lose now? (I'm kind of joking, but you never know)

I think the Jets will win... big surprise!

I have no doubt that the Jets lines are very good and better than the Colts in run blocking, but to be fair you can't take pass protection out of the equation its part of the game. While some of it has to do with the QB's release, the protection still has to be there. Since the Colts are primarily a passing team, this is every bit as important as rush blocking is to the Jets RB's.

Your recall is wrong. The sack on Painter was due to third string TE Sante missing an assignment. By the time he realized what he was supposed to do, he barely touched Pace. It was even more obvious that no one even blocked Freeney. He said those were the two easiest sacks he's ever had. You better hope Sanchez doesn't miss the adjustement the next time.

No one knws if the Colts would have won the first game if the 1st teamers would have stayed in. The Jets took the lead in the 3rd with the KO TD. Manning them led the team down the field to a TD to go up 15-10. Evidently both teams made half time adjustments.

Good point. This game really does come down to the Jets D vs. the Colts O, which is awesome!

Not picking on you Indy 39, but watch the game again. It was Sante who had the assignment.
