ScottI arrived a short time ago and barely got settled in the press room before the first news of the day arrived courtesy of ESPN reporter Sal Paolantonio, who attended the open portion of Jets practice. Jets linebacker Bart Scott was limping noticeably and favoring his heavily-taped left ankle. Scott ranked second on the Jets in tackles (107) and tackles for losses (12) in the regular season. He registered 15 quarterback hits. Also of note was defensive end Shaun Ellis. He was limited with his broken left hand wrapped in a cocoon of black tape. Ellis led the Jets with 6.5 sacks and 18 quarterback hits. Inside linebacker and leading tackler David Harris, who sprained his ankle in the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals, appeared to be full-go. Running back Thomas Jones was on the field, a sleeve covering his left knee.
Bart needs to get healthy...and quick. He's takes on a shitload of blockers, which frees up Harris to do his damage.
Scott wasn't good during the SD game, missed covering that guy who scored SD's first TD. He looked slow as well. Anyway's hopefully he's healthy.
But Scott was practicing??? I have to think that if we was on the field that it's not THAT bad. I mean if was in bad shape, clearly the CS would let him sit one out... right?!?
I think he's had this injury since the Bengals game (2nd one). He's a gamer, he'll tough it out! Look how quick Harris healed up.
I am sure he will play and will be fine. Heck, the Chargers listed Antonio Gates as Doubtful for a playoff game against us two years ago and he played the whole game.
Not good news. He's a warrior, he'll play, but this isn't good. Scott at 75% is better than what we have behind him, but we need him at 90% minimum for this game.
dont worry this is the guy always telling other teammates to put some dirt on it. he will just get an injection before the game to stop the pain, and have 2 weeks to prepare for the superbowl. dont worry also we got vernon gholston to fill in
YOU ARE CLUELESS! COME ON!! You listening to Boomer? That play was on Rhodes, do you know your football? GO backand watch the film. That play was on Kerry!
I would think that the Colts won't run very much on Sunday. Lots of short-medium passes. Jets may use alot of nickle and dime packages, which means B Scott may be sitting more than usual.
My bad on blowing up there, but I am SO SICK and TIRED of people trashing Bart Scott while they have no idea what they are saying. He was bashed in the game thread the last two weeks and I dont understand. If anyone trashes Scott again they have no idea how football works. We would NOT be here without Bart, I know that for sure. And again. THAT TD WAS MORE ON KERRY, NOT BART.
Think - Pats game at home. Rex did everything he could to win that game, including naming any ex-Pats as captains. I see smoke.
