Been here for what is going on my 6th year... thanks to Vegas_Karl and LV_Coach. Used to watch the games at a dive called Skinny Dugan's with those guys here in Vegas. If I watched the game with Coach he'd be the first guy I hugged after we beat the Colts. Our place has since gone the way of the DoDo but it'd be awesome to be enjoying the ride with them. This is the 1st of many AFC Title games we are going to be playinig in over the next few years. I'm so glad I have my son along for the ride with me. If we win he'll never remember as he's 2 years old but I know it's in his blood to be a fan of this team. I just want to be able to put up a SB Champions poster in his room... It'll be a dream come true when I do.
TBJ...like it was yesterday. I really have good mems of the Super Bowl...but I was 9 and thats how I became a Jet fan..but the Heidi game I remember for one reason...my brother (Giant fan) and I laugh about it all the time. We were sitting watching it...and all of a sudden my fathers voice...God rest his soul...shouts out....Heidi? Heidi!! Are you kidding me!! Ok..got it..will fix it. 1-4-55
Even if I had been around I have to say the JETS win would hardly have registered a blip on the Australian radar. Most TVs were still Black and White at that time and we only had 3 or 4 channels. Most of our content was British or local and international sport on TV was really only Cricket, Rugby, Wimbledon and the Olympics every 4 years. I, like all my friends, paid little attention to US sports growing up and it wasn't until I travelled to the States in my early 20's that I got into it. The one and only game I saw live was NY Giants at 3 Rivers stadium in probably November 1991. Giants came from behind to win. I watched the Superbowl every year since then as it was the only game of 'gridiron' shown until about 10 years ago when there was a weekly highlights show. I never really picked a team to support until the Ben Graham move to the JETS in 2005. I have been a regular internet/cable TV fan of this team ever since. I only just got my first JETS merchandise this year, some retro T-shirts. To be honest I would never have occasion to wear a Jersey here. It's mainly kids with side-ways baseball caps who rock that stuff here. So, I'm nearly 5 years on here. I was a message board newbie when I joined so this will always be my on-line home. And you bunch of freaks are my on-line mates. One day I'm gonna hit NY for a game and I hope the green carpet is rolled out for me!:beer:
Joined in 2003 right as the Redskins raided our roster. I feel like I've seen it all on this site: the Doug Brien fiasco, the rise and fall and rise and fall again of Chad Pennington, the Herman Edwards debacle, Mangenius, Mandoofus, Spygate, Spiveygate, Favre, and everything in between. Win or lose, this place has been a perfect outlet for my unhealthy addiction to the Jets and I don't know where I'd be right now without it

That is an impressive list. Certainly better than my draft class....... Although I do see a couple of first round busts in there.
I forgot to mention that I will be in Melbourne for the Colts game visiting relatives and friends. So I will be watching my first Jets game with my Dad. He has always dismissed the American code of football as a 'stupid' sport, mainly based on ignorance. However he has made numerous trips to the States these last few years and his American Son-in-Law has been working on him. He was there last thanksgiving and my sister reports that he is a closet fan now. Should be fun, but again it's a Monday morning here.

I've been posting since around when Mangini was hired, but I lurked for a few years before that (probably back to 2004). I distinctly remember the huge thread pleading for the Jets to trade up and draft Sean Taylor. Geez, that means I started lurking in sophomore year of HS and now I've been out of college for 8 months. Been a Jets fan all my life but I really started getting into football in '96. The '98 AFCCG run made me a fan for life and I've been waiting for this game since then. Even if they don't win this week, I think we really have something special starting here with Ryan, Sanchez, and co.
I was alive, 9 days short of 2. I was born January 21, 1967, six days after the first Super Bowl. That's how I keep track of them with the Roman numerals. Now would be better, I'm a bit more aware of my surroundings. :up:
