Could he play slot receiver for the Jets? Probably.

Will the Jets draft him? ...probably not - our team lacks picks in the middle rounds. We don't have a 3rd or 4th rounder, so our chance at Shipley more than likely will never come.

I'm a big fan of Bowling Green's Freddie Barnes as a NFL slot receiver.

    He's quality.

If he can do well at the combine, he might sneak into the first day of the draft. More likely in the 4h round, though.

If he drops to the 4th I'd be willing to trade our 2011 3rd rd pick for him + our 7th this year. I feel he would really be an asset on this team as a PR and a slot WR.

I'm not sure about this guy or how well he will translate to the NFL, but when I see interviews with him and when I read articles about him, he reminds me of Don Maynard - in a backwoods Texas hillbilly sort of way.

Are you saying he's got "purty lips"?

I like Shipley's heart, but we'd either have to reach to draft him, or he's have to hurt his knee this offseason so he would slip to the late rounds.

We have Woodhead.. He could be the next Chrebet or Welker.. He has speed and hands. Only downside is his size

He does have hands, but not great hands. I'm also not sure if he has the durability to be used that often.

I guess well have to wait and see.
( I would not at all be upset if somehow we do acquire Shipley)

Does anyone know what Woodhead's contract looks like?

I like him. He could be a good 3rd addition to my team. :)

anyone see the college skills competition? shipley pwnd the jugs machine. he was the only wr that caught everything with his hands and really snatched the ball out of the air.

i hope we trade down in the second, get an extra pick and take shipley or benn

That's some impressive vision, concentration, and lateral agility. Even if they were highlights.

I don't want to draft a receiver, but just saying, it's usually pretty tough to predict what players will be available in the 5th round because anything can happen that late in a draft. My guess is that at least one 3rd round prospect will probably be there.
