I didn't register until 2005 and still post infrequently, but I've lurked long enough to think of this forum every time I see an Applebee's. I remember one of the reasons I registered was so I could use the ignore list feature on the resident cat(ty)woman. I remember the board crash and probably three design changes. This board has definitely had its moments over the years, but nothing would be better than a Super Bowl win.
I am new to these boards, but have been an absolute die hard Jets fan since 1981. Have been through the wars with this team, witnessed the Mud Bowl in Miami, suffered the roughing the passer call against Gastineau in '86 against the Browns, The Denver AFC game debacle, been through it all. Never in a million years expected us to be on the brink of the Superbowl when the year started, just wanted to see what this kid Sanchez was all about. But, I have just had a feeling about this team. Especially when all those teams lost and enabled us to remain in contention. Rex is the most awesome coach we've had in the last 29 years with the exception of Parcells, but, I was always pissed he bolted after the 1998 season. Went to the Jets Pep rally last week, did the J-E-T-S chant with Fireman Ed, met Klecko my all-time favorite Jet, this is a magical time for us Jet Fans, we've paid our dues these long years and finally starting to get some breaks. I have enjoyed reading all of your posts over the last few weeks. I think we need another Jets Pep rally, get Fireman Ed, the Trojan dude, the freaky lady in the princess outfit, that cheesy band 8 x 10 or whatever they were called and then go lock horns with the big, bad Colts. Ecstatic with our Jets now and giggling with glee as figments of Sunday's Chargers game dance in my head, this is our time baby Let's Go JETS!!!
I've been a luker on the board since '04. I'm here every day catching up with this Bedlam of TGG. It's been an experience and education and a dood way to feel a part of the wider Jets world as I'm so far away. Can't really work out what's going on. Still basking in the afterglow of Sunday bit can feel the stomach beginning to knot in preparation for Sunday and beyond.
Anyone else here that used to post to the usenet newsgroup back in the 90s? I haven't checked that in many years but I used to post there a lot.
This reminds me of those threads in MMO's where everyone goes on about how if you weren't in the locked down pre-release Beta you aren't cool
Like a few posters here, i registered a while ago and read a lot more than I post. It's the first board I registered to (before a Spurs one that I frequent about the same as here) and love it, even during the shit years. Since I'm far away from jets country, this is the only source I use for my Jets fix
