210 yards is a lot if you look at his past 2 playoffs games. We'll be running the ball a lot this game unless it gets out of hand. I like the way we've been playing. Sanchez with 115-130 range and W!!!!

I suspect he won't be throwing much unless the Jets get down a few scores and that hasn't happened since the New England game in week 11. The Jets season has been strangely in reverse given what I expected out of them at the beginning of the year.

I thought Sanchez would come out and be really throttled back for the first 5 or 6 games, given only minimal throws while the Jets ran the ball down the opponent's throat. Then I figured he'd have a run of very iffy games as the handcuffs came off and he was given the chance to throw more often and earlier in the game, leading hopefully to a nice stretch at the end where he showed us some of the stuff we could look forward to down the road.

I figured 8 or 9 wins, no playoffs likely and looking forward to next year.

Then instead he came out of the gate on fire and lead the Jets to three early wins, followed by a progressively rockier and rockier season until the Jets had to put the handcuffs on him, at which point he stabilized and based on the D we made the playoffs.

Strange, strange season and we're in the AFC championship game with a rookie QB being treated as though he were starting his first few games in the NFL.

I don't think most of this is Sanchez fault, and I certainly don't think he's the reason we're here.

^ they scaled it back and the light went on in terms of how to be a better QB.

Then again, slants, comebacks, and checkdowns will do that for anyone looking to get into a rhythm.

He's playing his best football, and I can't wait to see the rest of his career.

Speaking of checkdowns, does anyone else think that Sanchez's job got a lot harder when Leon went down? I mean, the Jets are a great rushing team but their other RB's don't give you much production in the passing game.

I see Sanchez going 150 yds 1 TD 1 INT..... obviously we can't let the game rest on his arm. We need to pound the ball; rinse and repeat!

As Rex has said, we're gonna do what we're best at. We need to be patient with Sanchez, I don't think we're gonna have a quarterback that throws for 300 yds and 3 TD very often. This is a conservative west coast offense, which does not mean he can't succeed.

This sunday will be another 150,1,1 game...his "standard" game over the past 5 weeks. NFL fans have been spoiled by the Peyton Mannings, Drew Breeses, Brett Favre, etc. I understand people think this is the only way to win now, but the Jets have shown this is simply not true.

Joe Montana (who I realize is one of the best quarterbacks of all time) never threw for over 4,000 yards, and only over 3,900 twice. Based on the system he's in now and I think he'll be in for awhile, I don't expect Mark Sanchez to ever have the stats of Peyton, Brees, or other elite quarterbacks. But I think he's going to be a winner, and that is whats most important.

Remember the PATS 1st SB win? Brady wasn't exactly lighting up the stat sheet.
Sanchez just needs to Play smart, play consistent and become a cog in the machine....... THE WAR MACHINE :jets:

I think losing Cotchery for a few games and then Leon for the season had a big effect. I think trying to integrate Braylon Edwards into the offense and learn how to use him effectively had a big effect. I really don't blame Sanchez for what happened during the rocky stretch any more than I blame a pedestrian for getting hit by a car. Yes, he might have been out in the crosswalk and even crossing against the lights now and then but the guy behind the wheel should have been watching a lot closer than he was.

Sanchez will have to throw for somewhere around 250 yds 1 TD 1 INT.
You can't win a game in Indy just running it. They will probably get a fast lead and the Jets need to pass to keep it close IMO.

    That's what SD said too.

If we control the game we can run all day. The minute we have a lead this formula will be exacted to a tee.

This post sounds awfully familiar...oh yeah, its because we were told the same thing last week, that we couldn't run it when we'd be down "20-30 points."

TJ can catch the ball, they just don't throw it to him. Which is dumb.

I agree with him. Sanchez will need to step up and throw it more Sunday. Not saying Manning numbers, but 200 yards 3 TD's. And he will do it.

We are not the Chargers. We have a better defense than San Diego, we only gave up 10 points to the Jets when our starters were in and the TD was a long kickoff return. We also have more weapons, the Chargers have VJ and every one else is average. We have Wayne, Clark, Garcon, Collie and even Addai is a good reciever. And don't mistake Rivers for Manning. In the first half against the Jets Wayne burned Revis a couple of times and Manning over threw him and I'm sure that's what Manning is working on this week so this should be a good matchup. I doubt we'll miss 3 field goals because Stover has been money for us all year and we're in a dome.

Did you watch the San Diego game??

Indy has a worse rush D then San Diego, there is no reason right now to change the gameplan that we've used all year and for our playoff run.

Which by the way, we are the winningest team of 2010. We are 3-0.

    GO JETS!!!

At the same point in time in the Chargers game they had given up 3 points to us.

Its foolish to think that you guys will run away with the game. Just like noone here is predicting the Jets will.

Edit: BTW, I woud hardly call Antonio Gates "average." The Chargers have a very good recieving core as well--its just that the Jets have a very good secondary.

No your defense is not better.

    Total D- San Diego 16, Indy 18
    Rush D- San Diego 20, Indy 24
    Pass D- San Diego 11, Indy 14

So, you are wrong, thanks for playing.
