i emailed the jets front office asking when does this take place.here is their response any new news please post here
Relax, it's not overconfidence or anything. They always do the lottery before championship weekend (not that we've seen it many times).
in no way am i getting ahead of myself. as a season ticket holder 10,000 lucky SOB will win the super bowl lottery and get to purchase 2 super bowl tix at face value. and the selection is before the championship game.
I do not think it is near that many. I think it is closer to 5k but I could be wrong. I know I did not get a sniff of it in 06 and wouldn't expect to now either (if Indy goes to the Superbowl that is)
From what I understand, all season ticket holder accounts will be entered into a lottery with the opportunity to purchase a maximum of 2 tickets to the super bowl. It doesn't matter if you have 4 seats or 8 seats in your account, the most SB tix you can get is 2. I've also been told that your odds are weighted more heavily in your favor the longer you've had your seats. So for example, if you've had 4 seats over 20 years, you would have 80 beans in the pot. If you just got 2 seats for this year, you would have 2 beans in the pot. So if you have a lot of seniority it would tilt the odds heavily in your favor
Excuse me? Before the Jets played the Bengals, Rex Ryan handed out an itinerary to the players which included transportation and hotel details for the Super Bowl in Florida and times to arrive for the victory parade in Manhattan. Can't wait for the shitstorm after the Colts not only bungled the chance for a perfect season by throwing the game in week 15, but now also lost to the same team in the AFC championship. Painful, I know, don't worry there are support groups waiting for you
Excellent, so if they use this formula I have a decent shot at SB tickets after the Jets win on Sunday
Technically, I wonder if they will include people who were 2009 ticketholders but are not 2010 ticketholders. If you have not bought tickets for next year and this season is over awarding you superbowl tickets now that you are an ex-season ticket holder may make sense from the right thing to do point of view, but very silly from a business point of view. How made are the people who gave up there seat going to be? I bought two additional tickets this year from a season ticket holder who gave them up who was a 40 year season ticket holder. That guy is not getting SB tickets, and I most likely won't cause when I took them the clock started running again.
It sounds like they go by # of seats as how many chances you get to be selected and time. If you're over 20 years, all that does is double the amount of chances per seat. ie. 4 seats for 15 years = 4 chances to score SB tix. 5 seats for 23 years = 10 chances to score SB tix. This is my first year actually owning my own tickets with my name on 'em. Hopefully they throw me in the pot as well. I don't expect to get them, but I will at least hope they include me.
I hope to Gawd they pull my bean out of the burrito then. I hope some of those lucky SOB's are on the forum.
Lets see next year will be 45th year as a NYJ STH. I think that most of the "old" timers actually did reup based on how the UD filled up. Most of the desertions took place with the STHs who had far less seniority then the say somebody like me
