Yeah really. I love Jet fans. Jet fans are great people. But nobody's perfect. This caring about a moron sports doofus with a local show is pointless.
I hope you're not associating "Michael Kay" with "intelligent discussion." There is nothing clever/intelligent about that douchebag.
I had Kay on Sunday afternoon and all he did was drone on about how the Jets couldn't win and every reason why they aren't as good as the Chargers, and now all this week he expects to be taken seriously again. That's what's hilarious about these guys, they'll harp on a team's loss from eight weeks ago to discredit them, yet all the hot air they blew last week is instantly forgotten. The minute there's a new result and a new game to talk about they climb right back up on their expert horse as if they were right all along.
Brandon Tierney is a Jets fan, so I listen to him on 1050, always entertaining. He is on 10-noon I believe.
106 pages of promotion for this fucker- Whether you like it or not, this is the reaction he wants. If this keeps getting updated with his views more and more Jet fans will be tuning in just to report/respond. Just say no-
Yeah, he's pretty good but gets a little full of himself with his long sighs, like he's trying so hard to explain everything to us. But he's a Marist alum like me, Jets and Knicks fan, so he can't be all bad.
I'm honestly fine with Mike. I like his schtick cause I think it's funny when he riles up a fanbase and gets them pissed off. Now, it's not as hilarious as when he does it to the Jets than when he does it to the Mets, but it's still fucking funny. He's also arrogant and insecure as hell which makes it even more hilarious. I can't stand 5 hours of it, but I usually average a good 2-3 hours of Mikey.
Mike is a master of getting fans to listen to his show. That's why he's been #1 for about 20 years now. He knows how to get the phones ringing and that's his most important job. Mad Dog used to do the same shit to Yankee fans and they would call up looking to kill him. Angry people watching and calling in count the same as the happy people watching and calling in.
Two things people: 1) As has already been said, those of you who tune in "just to see what he'll say to bash the Jets" are the ones who are paying his ridiculous salary. You create ratings, which leads to advertising revenue, which leads to his next raise, resulting in his next trip to McDonalds. 2) Those who can't seem to understand his hatred for the Jets, him being a Giants fan and all, might want to take a look at this board back when the Giants were about to face one of our biggest rivals who were then 18-0. Just stop listening. Seriously.
Francessa was a Jets fan for awhile when Parcells was here. He probably resents the fact that he no longer has inside access. Couple that with the fact that he is a huge Giants fan and his station doesn't have the Jets. His core audience is still Yankee and Giant fans he's simply singing to the choir. I still love his Sunday program with Phil Simms who I think breaks down the games as good as anyone. Simms was terrific on Sunday pointing out some of the mistakes by both HC.
Evan Roberts just called out Fuckface (and a few other people), asking what it will take for the Jets to get respect because the doubters keep saying the Chargers lost the game, rather than the Jets won it.
Based on his Sunday night NBC show, his take today will definitely be that the Jets didn't beat the Chargers, but rather it was "divine intervention" that allowed the Jets to win. As I, and others, pointed out in previous posts, he spent the entire show discussing all the breaks the Jets got which allowed them to luck into a win. He believes these included: 3 missed FG's by their kicker, a phantom PI call (which was IMHO a lot more obvious than the ridiculous calls being made on Revis the previous week), SD's multiple 15-yard penalties, their block in the back penalty on a long completion that Fatcessa apparently believes shouldn't have been called because it was nowhere the play. However, he did not once point out, allude to, or otherwise mention the ridculous review by the refs on Leonhard's forced fumble which everyone (including Simms and SD fans) could clearly see was a fumble. That was an enormous break for SD, which he just ignores! If anyone isn't at work or school during his show today and happens to have some time, could you please call up and point out to the fat idiot that SD got a huge break of their own that he is conveniently ignoring when he goes on his rant about how it was simply "divine intervention" that allowed the Jets to win? Thank you to anyone who can.
tank opens up the show killing jet fans for thinking they are good says a 9-7 team now thinks they are all good they're in the AFC title game you fucking retard!
