FUCKING means everything. MARK SANCHEZ AND SHONN GREENE!! Congrats guys....60 minutes from Miami..we can do this!!!! Great defense, great running game and ever improving QB == AFC Championship next week.
I never thought we'd be this successful, but man it feels good. All of you guys that had Sanchez's back with me all season long...this is such a sweet victory.
God I hate these Jets... how the hell are we supposed to trade down if we keep playing like this !? You just have to love what Clinkscales and our Scouting staff does...
I was against picking Sanchez all offseason least year. I have never been happier to be wrong. Great job, Mr.E et al. Let's get this done in Indianapolis!!
I never expected this....it's insane. I wanted Sanchez badly, but never thought Tanny could pull it off......the future is very bright.
I was just telling my buddy, who's a Chargers' fan, that they better expect to see this Jets team in the playoffs as long as Ryan and Sanchez are in New York. The defense will always be top notch and our offense is only going to get better.
2009...Quality vs Quantity. 2010...Lets' get some more picks, improve depth, strenghten our Lines and get a Slot/Possession WR.
The 2006 class with Ferguson, Mangold, and Washington is pretty damn good too. In 2007, we drafted Revis and Harris. Mike Tannenbaum has done a hell of a job.
Agreed. I like a trade back this draft. Pick up a mid 2nd and a 3rd. Draft a pass rusher, LG/slot receiver, and DL.
I haven't started to fully scout this draft, but we haven't been in a position like this for a while. Few picks and at the end of each round. We have been on a roll, the few true draftniks that goof around here between Feb and April. I have some ideas already about position( I am against drafting any recievers, we don't and won't throw enough to qualify it). I think we can do this.
I can understand your POV, but there's more to it why the Jets aren't passing more often. The reasons we aren't throwing more......#1 Sanchez is a rookie, he'll get better with experience getting the ball downfield. #2 Jet's are limited in targets for Sanchez, we need to draft a slot receiver and not having Leon to dump it off to out of the backfield . #3 Don't fix what's not broken..."Ground and Pound"...run the ball and control the clock.
It's going to break, if we don't start finding some future replacements at key positions like right tackle, left guard, and fullback. I want to see Thomas Jones back with the Jets in 2010, but if the team feels they don't need to pay him the amount that's due, then we'll probably go in a different direction. That means we'll have to find another powerful back to take some of the punishment off of Greene.
Last April, I thought TJ was a goner after 2009, I'm not so sure anymore. Thomas Jones is one of the NFL's top conditioned players and probably has 3 good more years in the tank. I agree we need to upgrade the O-Line, but I also agree we need to address the #3 slot Wr position. The amount of money the Jets can spend on Free Agents is limited...getting more draft picks is the key.
If Edwards hands improve we are fine at reciever.I'd put Edwards, Cotchery and Keller up against a lot of receiving corps. Right now we have the best in our division. Keller has been great in the slot and I haven't seen a ball thrown at Clowney in a while. We are decimated on the D-line. Ellis is older, Jenkins is hurt and old and the other side is no name FA's. Woody is showing some cracks and is old at RT.
I think your comment is a little extreme. While I agree D-line needs to be upgraded, especially DE, I won't call it a dumpster fire, just yet. That's why I'm an adovcate to acquire more picks and trade down. In no particular order, a DE, WR, 3-4 OLB & O-Line are my 4 primary targets with our picks. DeVito has done a very nice job, Pouha has exceeded expectations. The Jets need to address D-Line in 2010's draft, but also need to look for another weapon for Sanchez in the slot...we are sorely lacking.
