Wouldn't this be the perfect week to unleash him? If Edwards can't catch might as well take a deep shot to the Clown. We haven't thrown to him in so long. I think we can catch the Chargers sleeping.

Maybe if they can catch a corner sleeping or something with a couple of fly routes, but the reason Clowney hasn't gotten too many balls thrown his way is (from what I can tell on replays) that his route running is putrid and he is terrible at getting through a bump at the LOS. If they could give Clowney's hands and concentration to Edwards, we would have an elite receiver.

Braylon drops passes cus he can get open. Clowney is never open so he doesnt even have the opportunity to drop a pass.

I say throw deep balls to Clowney only. Let braylon catch the short passes.

I don't think I ever seen Clowney miss a deep ball.

That's just wrong. BE catches everything thrown his way when he is blanketed with coverage, it's when he's wide open that he can't catch.

I think a go route to the clown is a perfect idea, his piss poor route running won't hinder him if we say run as fast as you can down the field in a straight line and catch the. That is the one thing he can do.

Some guy called Mike Francessa and pretty much said the same thing but I totally agree. Play Action BOMB first play of the game.

i wish Clowney can finish with the TD celebration of "LT Style, Electric Glide.. Now side step, side step, side step, side step!" in their endzone. That'd be awesome.

Maybe the best post-season receiver as well. Could you imagine if he was as dominant in the post as the pre, and just didn't perform in the regular season? lol

If somebody could teach Clowney how to run routes, block, and be phsyical at the LOS; I wouldn't mind letting Edwards go, and keep DC for cheap. He has that type of raw talent. That being said. That's a BIG if.

I don't get the obsession with wanting to call deep balls or trick plays on the first play of the game. Someone brings it up every week, why does it have to be the first play of the game to send a message or set a tone?

"how to run routes, block, and be physical"

why don't we just pick a guy off the street and teach him how to run routes, block, and be physical? then we can let DC and Braylon go

Clowney hasnt been "unleashed" because he really hasnt been good enough to get on the field IMO.

The difference is that someone off the street might not have the raw speed, height, or have an ability to catch the ball, even when the ball isn't put in the best position to be caught. Those are natural talents you can't teach. Clowney's only problem is that he can't run routes well, and he's not very physical. Similar to how Randy Moss is, where if you get physical with him early, he kinda gives up on the play. Clowney hasn't established himself enough in the league to be lazy on plays.

This site has threads that want to trade Kerry Rhodes but that beg for Clowney to get more opportunities. I just don't get it.

You need a first down play after a change of posession.

Clowney come into the huddle and lines up at RB.

Under center Sanchez checks the D and motions him out to the slot, so you get a LB.

Outside WR runs a post, Clowney goes out and up.
