No doubt. Can we please beat San Diego before all this crazy talk?

Nothing is worse than getting excited about a play and NOONE else cares in the room because they are just pretending to be football fans. UGH.

Ive been trying to get my brother into the Jets and he watches the game with me, but I can tell his heart just isnt into it. Plus he says stupid shit all game. Like during the bengals games, we were running all over them in the second half and yet every time we ran a play and only got a yard or 2 he would make a noise of disgust and say the Jets suck. Its like seriously we were kicking their asses and running all over them, stfu already.

How does this hurt anyone to speak of hypotheticals?

The fans have nothing to do with how the team focuses or plays the upcoming game. Whats next, a book burning?

The past few years I've been hosting a Super Bowl party, one last big grilling for the season. If the Jets made it I'm not sure what I'd do, probably scale it down some so I can focus on the game.

Looking at ticket prices (and my current economic state, tickets to the game are not realistic)
my family is already planning a SB/birthday/retirement party for my pops (last year his B-day was SB sunday) regardless of who's playing.......

Well, my dad asked me the other day "what do you want to cook for the party?" my response was "whatever we feel like grilling in the parking lot of Landshark stadium." he liked that

seriously, could you get into the lot without a ticket? I'd rig up a TV and party in the lot all day until we're kicked out. :jets:

If the JETS do make it, and we stay home, the party will be crazy. There will be different TVs in different areas of the house (one outside, weather permitting) to separate the fanatics from commercial watchers.

I dont think any of my friends would leave their wives at home for this game. Which is sad. Because come to think of it i would rather watch alone.

I've already decided that I'd drop X amount of dollars. Fresh out of college, no job, a little money in the bank... why not?

But that's getting ahead of ourselves. We can't just look past San Diego and Bodymore/Indy. Let's take care of things on Sunday.

I refuse to be in a room full of women.... No offense or anything but, my wife gives me grief about football all year, as do some other wives and NOW, they would want to be around?????

How about when the Super Bowl is on and you hear all that freaking woman chatter going on.... And I count a lot of men in that group of "women"...

It would absolutely drive me mad... If that happened AND they lost I would have to hurt myself.

Hence the thread.... I really need to figure out what I would do...

And again, come Sunday night I'll need a more concrete plan - And that goes for the Championship game as well...

    Mulcahys?

My wife went to her mom's last weekend and I had the perfect blow out party Saturday night.... NO chance of that happening again though.

One option is to try one of those Ticket Futures Market website like firstdibz.com or yoonew.com.

From Wikipedia: "If a fan believes his favorite team will reach the championship game, he can purchase ticket futures months in advance at a low prices which are market-based. [6]If the team actually makes it to the big game, the fan is guaranteed tickets. If the team is eliminated and the holder has not re-sold their contract, they lose their investment.

For example, in 2006, sports fan Joe Kocott bought 18 futures contracts for the Pittsburgh Steelers making the Super Bowl at an average of $185 each. When the Steelers eventually made it to the Super Bowl, he was delivered the tickets, which were selling at around $2,500 each at the time.[8]

In 2007, a systems analyst paid $537 apiece for two futures contracts for the New England Patriots for upper-deck seats at University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. Since the Patriots made it to the Super Bowl, he ends up with two tickets for the Super Bowl XLII.[9]

For Super Bowl XLII, a consumer could have had got a ticket for only $86 had he bought a team fantasy seat for the Giants one month before the big game.[10]

More recently in 2008, Craig Cox, an Associate Professor at Texas Tech's School of Pharmacy bought two Matchup Fantasy Seats for the Steelers and Cardinals at the lower level for the Super Bowl XLIII for only $29.70 apiece one month before the NFL playoff. As both teams made it to the big game, he received two tickets and went to the game with his brother[11]."

I almost bought Jets Superbowl tickets on Yoonew.com for $50 a piece before the season started. Since then I hyperextended my knee trying to kick myself in the nuts.

I'll be in college and stuck on campus that weekend.

Tis a shame, wouldn't even be able to watch it with my dad who is a longer suffering fan than I will ever be.

I can't stand watching football with people that don't know the game, especially the superbowl.

"Why do they always run up the middle? It never works."

    FUCK

Yep I am hoping for exactly the same thing. My sis-in-law also has a condo like about 15 miles from the stadium. We already booked our rooms & may decide to drive it especially if we can not get flights or the airfares are sky high

    1) make sure TV is hooked up to a stereo system

    2) keep remote to said stereo in pocket

    3) Turn up volume on game when everyone starts talking about bullshit..... lower volume when they stop to "watch" commercials.

Also, I make it clear to make an announcement about this prior, and say "if you want to talk about something other than the game you can go in the other room. today is NOT about commercials"

    :shit:

    2 Questions.

    1. How big is this condo?

    2. How hot is your aunt?

You guys crack me up - my husband and I (yes a woman who is a die hard Jet fan, imagine that..lol) thought we were the only Jet fans figuring out how we would go to the Championship game and the Super Bowl! We always said if they made it we would go so we're trying to figure something out too. Getting tickets for the SB would be the biggest problem. How about this for ironic - remember when the Jets were trying to get their own stadium built in NYC - the West Side Stadium? Well because they thought it was a go they put in a bid for the Super Bowl & were supposed to host guess which one?? February 7, 2010! How great would that have been!!??!?!??!?
