Pros of working from home; chasing said dragon.

Cons of working from home; none.

I can't f'ing wait for this weekend. Win or lose, I have never been so proud to sport a Jets cap everyday.

I agree 100% with you and Rex. Our team is playing for the Sb and nothing else.

You think this week is going slow? Wait until the season is over. At least we have stuff to talk about right now.

It is very slow. And I think it's taking me longer to fall asleep at night cause of how excited I am. I'm usually out in minutes, now it's taking me sometimes a half hour or more. LETS PLAY!

I say this all the time but enjoy every second. These types of games don't come around too often and though it appears we are headed for many more of these in the coming years you never know. Enjoy every second of this run.

And the fact that we have to watch 3 games before ours is the real kicker...Like that dude said before if Baltimore wins I'm gonna lose my sh*t!

I hear ya fellas. Feeling butterflies and getting all jacked up and frothing at the mouth just reading some of the shit from these Chargers fans. I so want to play them right now and get this shit done!

The buildup is getting worse each day closer to the game. I'm getting different visions in my head of how the game will play out, most good, but some bad.

The entire thing is made worse because I have to spend the weekend in Dallas with my wife and her friends. Gonna be way out of my comfort zone and I just hope I can fly back with a win looking forward to the AFC title game in the meadowlands.

I completely agree. One of my least favorite sports cliches of all-time is the term "house money". I just think it's generally a huge fallacy to ever say that a team is playing with "nothing to lose" once they are in the playoffs. In today's NFL, you just never know what it going to happen year-to-year anymore. As much as we all believe that thet Jets have a bright future and are a team on the rise, none of us can actually assume future success with any degree of certainty. Remember what we all thought about Pennington after 2002??? How many of us honestly doubted that Pennington would be an all-pro and that we would win a superbowl with him??? The Jets need to do everything they can to take advantage of the situation and make the most of this opportunity.

Good on you for your passion for your team. A few things.

Most of us in San Diego are, in fact NOT on cloud nine. We have gone through many extremes in the past 5 years. Perhaps in 2004 we felt the way you did, when we were fortunate enough to luck into a wild card game and lo and behold, there you were to shatter our dreams.

Two years later, we had the best record in the league, and yes, we were on cloud nine...but this time from the standpoint of a SUPERIOR team with the league MVP and a 14-2 record, our two losses was by a total of 6 points. Wham! that cloud dissipated in our Worst. Game. EVER!! against your own league nemesis, the Patriots.

The following year, we made the playoffs, but with lessened expectations. In fact, our team had severe injuries to our top three key ball handlers as well as to many of our line players. But we made it all the way to the final game in New England, where we competed much of the game, before fading in the fourth quarter, against a very healthy and very focused New England team, who won their 18th game of the year.

Finally, last year, we were humbled during the season. At 4-8, our season seemed nothing to play for, but we came back and snuck in with the division championship at 8-8, and beat Indy at home before losing against eventual champion Pittsburgh.

So we've run the gamut from Best Team, to Good Team, to Lucky to Even Be in the Show Team, in successive years. And we have naught to show for it.

So we don't take this, or ANY game lightly. Yes, we have a confidence that we will win. I mean, if you were from Mars and didn't give a whit about football, New York, or San Diego, but looked at this as a purely logical exercise, it would be obvious as to who the favored team would be. But that is not what this is about.

Nobody who really knows Charger football is taking this game like the Jets have "no chance". We KNOW how things can work out, and all we can do is to minimize the dangers, and maximize our favorable matchups. And may the better team win.

There will be plenty of room on that cloud on February 8. But not before. At least not in SD.

OH, back to thread topic. You've been waiting all week? Hell, we've been on pins and needles since we put coal in the Titans' stockings on Christmas. That's three freakin' WEEKS without competitive football... oh, the wait is excruciating...

I need this game to be played NOW. This waiting business has been a huge distraction from school.

I have to agree. It's not polite to torture a chicken and put it on death row for a week before you kill it, it's better to just snap its neck quickly and get it over with.
