I'm worried that our punter has a heart ailment. I know they said he's good to go this week, but I'm sure they felt the same way last week.
I'm all for taking one for the team but I don't want to see a medical emergency on the field. Hopefully they ran Weatherford through a battery of tests this past week.
I agree with ya. I'm all for playing with an injury, but a heart condition is serious. Hopefully he can go. Right now they are full steam ahead that he's playing. We need every yard we can get this game, so his role will be huge.
I'm sure the doctors wouldn't put him in danger. They are the ones who stopped him from playing last week.
If the Jets let him play without passing a physical, they would be up for boatload of lawsuits. Weatherford is currently taking medication to regulate his heart-rate and he has another one the doctors prescribed in case the first doesn't work and his heart-rate spikes. He should be fine for Sunday. San Diego delenda est.
Yes, our ST sucks. Tired of crossing my fingers everytime we kick off to teams hoping they don't run it back over 30 yrds.
I'm very worried about out STs. I'm not so much worried about coverage units as I am about bad snaps, bad holds, and penalties on FGs. This stuff bugs the shit out of me and has plagued the Jets this season. Now I know chances are we won't have a problem this week, but it's the little things that have costs us games this year and it's the little things that lose playoff games
Tannenbaum and Ryan are trading away, cutting, or just not dressing all of his core ST players. San Diego delenda est.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I don't remember seeing Brad Smith on kick coverage in the last few weeks. He is clearly one of the best tacklers on STs that we have, and I hope he's out there covering kicks this week
I think Ryan and Schottenheimer have been pulling off of kick and punt coverage thanks to his increased offensive role. I'm not a fan of this decision. San Diego delenda est.
I would be very much against this decision!!! Hope they keep him in ST considering how dangerous Sproles is...
The ST unit has gone from a strength to a weakness of this team. as others have mentioned, loss of personnel has ALOT to do with it. Losing Leon moves gunner Smith to returns..... Trusnik and batman Carroll has obviously hurt as well. They CANNOT afford to give up alot of field position against this offense. :shit:
Hopefully Murrell and/or Cummings dress this week and make some Revis damned plays. San Diego delenda est.
I think K/O has been a mess for most of the season. The Ginn Jr game was by far the worst (2 in a row to same side, WTF???) but there have been far too many big returns besides that. Hard for me to say if it's personnel or coaching but I don't think it's been Westhoff's finest year. SD has a wicked offense and we can't afford to give them a short field. I'm sure we'll give up a couple of big plays, they just can't go for 6.
Maybe if we can get that first round draft pick from 2 years ago that we pay $5 mil a year to play some special teams we'll get some return on our investment
Westoff had stated in his presser (last week Thursday??) that Murrell wasn't active because he wasn't happy with his play. Also we had lost Trunsick, Izzo, Carroll so we had to replace guys on the fly. I'm not worried about this week. Guys just have to make the plays in front of them is all. And no Woodhead on ST coverage. That is a fail right there.
