Jason LaCanfora on NFL network said if Bills hire Schottenheimer, Jets are interested in Mike Martz as OC

Yeah I wouldn't want this at all...doesn't fit our run-first offense. Although perhaps Martz could adjust. My #1 choice would still be Callahan if Schotty isn't here.

Martz was fired in SF for not wanting anything to do with a run offense.

    NO thanks!

RUMOR: Jets interested in Mike Martz as OC -.-"

    SORRY, PLEASE MERGE

First thing... I'm being serious, this is not a joke!

I was just watching La Canfora's Tuesday's report and he says:

    1) Schotty seems like the favorite for the Bills job

    2) He hears rumors that there is an interest by the Jets to bring Martz in.

How in the world can that be?! Aren't we committed to running the ball? I think there is no way it happens... but it's being reported on NFL.com and those guys usually aren't that far off...

That said he showed his love for Sanchez on different occasions on NFL.com and he did make Faulk (Leon comparison anyone?) the best multi-purpose RB in the league. COuld he and the running game (maybe managed by Callahan) find a way to co-exhist?

PS on a side note just after the minute mark why is Jerry Jones daughter (I think, look to the left of him) touching her boobs :p?

Not sure how I feel about this.

BTW, Schotty was also an early favorite to succeed Eric Mangini as head coach of the Jets. Just sayin'.

I really think it's a shame that Martz hasn't gotten a second chance as a head coach — the NFL is always too afraid of guys who are willing to take chances and do thing's slightly differently from the rest of the pack. Adding his football mind could only be a good thing for the team and Sanchez's development, considering that Callahan and his blocking schemes would still be sticking around.

If Schotty leaves Callahan seems way more qualified to run our offense, please say no to Martz.

man could you imagine Rex and Martz on the same sideline? that two of the most in your face guys that can be. I Dont know if its a good fit though. I could see Martz'y chucking it all over the field causing turnovers and Rex punching him out just like his old man punched out a similiar "offensive mind"

seems like an odd choice. How does this idea fit with Rex's ground and pound philosophy?
