I work for the Mets, in concessions.

It's kinda embarassing (being a mets fan myself) that I dread going to work because of Mets fans, and all the opposing fans I've met (Including Philly and Yankee fans) have been for the most part very very kind.

Could just be that it's the Mets home park and when at a different team's stadium people don't act like jackasses, but I often enjoyed serving other team's fans more then most met fans.

There is no way the Twins let Mauer get to free agency. He is the face of the franchise and the best (or maybe second best) player on that team.

Mets Talk with Beat Reporter Adam Rubin

As most everyone knows by now, I co-host a 100% commercial-free, no one makes a dime from it, Sports Talk radio show on Long Island.

TONIGHT (Thursday 1/7), Daily News Mets beat reporter Adam Rubin joins us for 2 hours of 100% commercial-free Mets talk from 9PM to 11PM on Long Island's 90.3FM.

This will be Adam's first extended appearance anywhere since the crazy Omar Minaya Press Conference this past summer.

You don't have to be in the listening area to tune in!
You can also watch our show live on the internet during that time at
    http://www.justin.tv/sportstalk

The audio of the interview will be up at http://sportstalk903.libsyn.com after
    the show.

Thanks, and please tell some friends about us.

P.S. We'll be doing a 2-hour Jets show with Rod Boone like this in a few months.

Like they were never going to get Santana or Beltran? Or like Jason Bay would rather play in Beiruit? I'm not even saying they'd go after him but the Molina signing would eliminate any chance they had. (I highly doubt Mauer would ever leave the AL)

I've seen the Mets in San Fran, Anaheim, Houston, Cincinatti (old stadium), Phoneix, San Diego, LA and Colorado and I can tell I've never had an issue with opposing fans. I usually am that obnoxious jackass but I've mellowed out since becoming a dad and bringing my son with me.

Good for Mauer would rather play for the Twins, and take less money.

This could get ugly on a few levels. Microfracture surgery is no joke and it's never good when a team considers a lawsuit against its own player.

    Jan. 13 - 9:55 pm et
Carlos Beltran underwent microfracture surgery on his right knee Wednesday afternoon and is expected to be idle for the next 12 weeks.
The Mets released a statement on the matter just moments ago stating that Beltran began experiencing "osteoarthritis of the right knee" several weeks ago "to the point where pre-spring training conditioning became too painful." He opted to undergo the procedure through his own personal doctor and will almost certainly miss the first month of the season, if not more. The Mets may rush to sign another outfielder before spring training begins.

The Mets are maintaining that Carlos Beltran's right knee surgery was done without their blessing and may pursue some form of action.
It's possible (but unlikely) the Mets could move to void Beltran's entire contract. More than likely, they'll try to recoup partial monetary loss, perhaps in returned salary for the time he will be out. However, these types of suits against a player rarely succeed, never mind win. Beltran is expected to be out no less than 12 weeks with the injury.

If Beltrans knees are as fucked as its looking like then they should move him to 1B. He'll be horribly overpaid, but at least it'll be less wear and tear on his legs. Once his contract is up let him walk. You put pencil Pagan in CF opening day right now and hope F-Mart can hit and field well enough to earn the job in spring training.

There's no way they move Beltran to 1B. Especially since those assholes are gonna bring back Delgado.

if anyone is interested, the Mets are having a blood drive on January 27 from 10 AM to 5 PM

donors get a voucher for a pair of tickets

I donate blood a lot, and I went to the blood drive in the last year of Shea and got a pair of tickets. I plan on going to this one as well.

i heard it was arthoscopic surgery involving bone spurs (talking about Bone Spurs). If it was microfracture surgery, Beltran would miss the entire season, as it stands, he's supposed to miss 8-12 weeks

This is an obvious one. At first I wanted the Mets to try Sheets, but now after the Beltran injury it just reminded me why we can use the "hope he's healthy" tradegy we used last year. I saw sign either Garland or Pinero in FA, and try for a trade with the Reds for either Arroyo or Harang since they signed that Cuban FA.
