It's getting a bit retarded now when someone hypothetically starts a discussion looking 2-3 games into the future and the very next idiot says,

Please allow me to trigger the light bulb near your head.
You're not in the coaches' room game planning against the Bengals. Looking 2-3 games ahead into the future is not going to hinder your ability to work your finger voodoo on the TV screen against the current week's opponent.

    LEARN THAT FACT.

This is a message board. Without these hypothetical talk, things will be pretty quiet in here. Let Sal Paolantonio talk about Jets vs Chargers, because it excites the shit out of me! Bengals, Chargers, Ravens, Eagles! Bring it!

With that said, I am going to look into the future and see the Jets in SB XLIV. I'm on board with Rex, and 25:1 is a fucking bargain!

Sounds like you're setting yourself up to be SOJ'd (as much as I hate that f***in term). But hey, it's your health.

Please refrain from using the term SOJ while they're about to play the first playoff game-

I agree, what's the point in being a fan if you count on them losing-

It's nice to dream, ain't it?

The Jets have always been full of surprises...but so was John Wayne Gacy's basement.

I'm one of those "idiots" that says...

I do this because I almost feel as if the fan base starts getting to far ahead of themselves, then it will be a jinx. It will linger to the media, it will get in the players head, and we will all be severely disapointed. I know it is silly, I will be the first to admit it, and it's my fault for lingering in these kind of threads, I'm just trying to establish why I say these things. haha

    I know.. Silly.. :/

I didn't realize a team can't be prepared for an opponent if fans who have no influence on the game are thinking about another game. weird. how does that work?

looking 2 to 3 games into the future in the nfl is the dumbest thing you could ever do. even to hypothetically talk about it is simply a waste of time and energy. its just something for men who dont get laid enough to ponder.

just like making predictions on this that or the other thing with ultimate conviction its a waste.

some people dont use message boards to talk about hypotheticals but to talk about realities and reality tells you that you cant project anything in the nfl.

sorry you dont like it but the exact same thing goes the opposite way, they should not bother wasting their time telling you how absurd it is to talk about the afc championship and you should stop making posts like this one.

Ok. This, ladies and gents, is my nomination for the most retarded poster of the year.

I don't know where you learned to research but "not getting laid" and "making sports predictions" has no correlation whatsoever. I'm not the manslut that lives to have sex with every woman like you (honestly, you may be a 300lb couch potato for all i know), but I am very satisfied with my marriage. You know what? I still make sports predictions. That's just being a fan and being in love with sports.

Looking 2-3 games in the future is one of the dumbest things? Again, making predictions (biased or not) is a huge part of sports. Why do you think many media outlets make Super Bowl predictions even before the preseason starts? If anything, that's absurd, but still sure is entertaining. Without predictions, sports will be dry like your paid whore's vag before you apply vaseline.

I can make a good argument on all of your points, but "THAT" would be pointless.

Maybe if I get bored, I just might go dig up one of your posts that makes a prediction of something.

Yeah it drives me up the walls when fans and media analysts say not to look ahead.

Pontificating about sports is part of what makes it fun.

PS to Alleycat - Your post is probably the most ridicuous post I've ever read.

In 2011 we will go 12-4 and get a first round bye. After beating the Dolphins in the divsional playoff we will face off against the Steelers in the AFC Championship. I think if we shut down Big Ben and Revis blankets Marshall and get we Green going early I think we have a real shot...

    What??...Too far ahead?

Focusing on tomorrow's game to the exclusion of "what ifs!" thereafter is NOT counting on them losing. Bad logic.

I don't worry so much about jinxs and that sort of thing as that a situation like we're in right now, a playoff game coming up tomorrow with the Jets in it, that's part of the beauty, right now I can't think of a bigger part, of being a football fan who is a fan of the Jets. It's all about the game right now.

Yeah, that doesn't mean there aren't all these interesting questions concerning what might happen if they win. I would not say I have not thought anything about that. Nothing wrong with thinking ahead in life in general, or here, either.

But it's not my main focus.

It's kind of like thinking about having a few beers after a late afternoon fuck fest with the wife or girlfriend or both. It's not the first thing on my mind when right in the middle of the old in out.

I hope the analogy makes the point.
