Funny stuff. Its all in good fun. Ed said the right things about Chad and wasn't a douche like some make him out to be. It was a good segment. More Jets stuff in the media. I enjoy it, because i'm not afraid of it.
NYPOST Jets fan won't 'sleep with enemy' By BRIAN COSTELLO Last Updated: 9:44 PM, January 6, 2010 Posted: 3:09 PM, January 6, 2010 CINCINNATI -- When "Fireman" Ed Anzalone's phone lit up Monday with a text message from Chad Ochocinco, he thought it was a joke. When the Bengals receiver actually called him Tuesday, he realized it was the real deal. Ochocinco offered Anzalone VIP Treatment" for Saturday's AFC Wild Card game including a flight to Ohio. Anzalone immediately rejected the offer. "I'm honored the guy would give me the opportunity to do something like that but he's the enemy," Anzalone said today from the set of Showtime's "Inside the NFL." "That's like sleeping with the enemy. Come on, I'm a Jets fan." Anzalone then added jokingly, "Of course, no one from the Jets has offered to fly me out there." The two chatted for a while and Ochocinco expressed his admiration for the "J-E-T-S!" chant Anzalone leads at Jets home games. Before last week's regular-season finale, Ochocinco promised an "O-C-H-O" chant if he scored. He went without a catch. "What I love about Ocho is he doesn't create problems off the field," Anzalone said. "The NFL needs more guys like him. He's a character but he puts up." Anzalone said he won't travel to Saturday's game because he usually gets harassed in opposing stadiums. He's predicting a Jets victory and is hopeful the Jets and Ravens both win the next two weeks to set up an AFC Championship game at the Meadowlands. As for the new stadium, Anzalone said he has his seats for next year but will be moving from his current spot (about the 10-yard line on the lower level) to the end zone, where the personal seat license costs $5,000 as opposed to $15,000 in his old spot.
Does anyone know what the license price is at about the 10-yard line on the lower level today at Giants stadium?
Good for Ed- His new seats sound pretty close to my section. He's about 4-5 sections over from me now. I don't know that'd I'd like to be seated in the same section. Would you guys have taken the trip?
DId you catch the highlight segments where the narrator's says the Jets were handed the last 2 games? What bullshit. They kicked the snot out of Cincinnati. The narrator also said the Bengals sat their starters after halftime, but failed to mention the Jets had a 24-point lead and the game was over. I hope the Jets catch it and kick the crap out of everybody this week, next week, and all the way to Miami.
Did anyone else assume Fireman Ed's PSL would be comped? Not that I wanted the Jets to waive his PSL - I just kind of assumed they would.
Ed has stated in the past that he has to pay just like everyone else. If the Jets set a precedent by comping his seats, they are opening up a can of worms.
Yeah I think it's good that Fireman Ed has to pay for his own seats. But, it says a lot that one of the biggest and most recognizable fans in the NFL can't even afford the PSL's to retain his normal seat...
I don't think he should have to pay for his seats to be honest. The crowd is entirely different without him.
i'd think they'd at least comp the PSL (not the tix) to keep him close to the field.. he's been great in getting the crowd goin..
Definitely. Am I the only one who thinks that something is up here with all the love for #85, first Revis, then TJ and now Ed..... #85 has been very complimentary of the organisation as well, and for such a brash talker, kind of feels out of place....no smoke without fire
