FYP. and ftr, While I do not want a dome for reg season play or playoffs, It would be nice to have it there just for SB and Major events. But, since the so called business minded-college graduate experts said it was too expensive, they will now miss out on BILLIONS.
Am I the only person who thinks the Super Bowl, at least one time, would be awesome in the cold in the new stadium with Manhattan in the background? Some of the great games of all time are played in the elements. Besides, a lot of people need to be reminded that the Super Bowl is still a football game, it's become too pristine in my opinion. I'm not saying have it in Buffalo every year, but once or once in a while in NY/NJ would be awesome for the game and the city.
ALLEYCAT---I remember those posts about overhangs and until that post had never heard of such a thing. I do know as I posted back then that the NEW Yankee Stadium DOES indeed have an overhang so I am still uncertain as to what that guy posted?????
im gonna have to go back and search for it when i get some time. there was a .pdf file and all sorts of engineering data stuff that was posted. i hadnt remembered that until i just read your post now i want to find it.,.... its somewhere in those 239 pages of posts
They couldn't even manage to get the stadium in the actual city... or even a city at all. East Rutherford doesn't even have 10,000 residents. There's no good reason for it to have cost that much and not be in the city or be better than the new Cowboys stadium. I'm ambivalent about the roof or lack thereof, but if there was ever an excuse to charge PSLs for the most unnecessary "upgrade" in NFL stadium history, it would be to pay for a retractable roof. Of course if I had to choose between PSLs or no roof, I'd pick no roof.
we all know the NFL had the Colts and Bengals roll over to get Jets in Play-offs. Game was most viewed show of week and sold a lot of PSLs when Jets won. The Jets borrowed a lot of money from NFL to build stadium and NFL better fix it so Jets can pay them back.
100% accurate. The NFL is very closely watching this psl situation, and want to make sure it has gone well by opening day 2010. Putting the jets in the playoffs has gone a long way to help this cause.
Moronic statement.. Like they called Parcells and told him the Dolphins must lose their last two games.. and he said no problem..
Moronic statement. Correct me if i'm wrong but the dolphins lost their game BEFORE the jets played the colts. Once the dolphins and others lost, by the time the jets-indy started no other help was needed. No one was called or told to lose, but when they all did lose, it sure opened up a big hole for the jets and the nfl to weisel thru.
So, if we're to believe that, then I guess that also means that the Jets will win the Superbowl! That would certainly help sell PSLs...
