Don't forget the Jets Effect too. Ref 1: Baker would have clearly been in. That was a force out! Ref 2: Yeah, you might be right actually. Ref 1: You know what? Forget the forceouts. New rule: No forceouts at all!
From Sept-through Dec maybe but not even in the discussion when you include postseason. He's an all-time great reg season QB, he's an average postseason QB.
Career playoff stats of Brady and Manning: 4,208 Yards, 61.7%, 22 TD, 17 INT, 85.0 RAT 3,954 yards, 62.5%, 26 TD, 12 INT, 88.0 RAT Pretty similar.
They do, as far as how the two performed. Wins are NOT an individual stat, they are a team stat. Any attempt to suggest otherwise is idiotic.
No they don't. There are more than a few games where peyton had good #s but played awful football and cost his team the game. Against Pitt I think he had a 90+ rating but he was dreadful and despite being given multiple gifts still couldn't get that game to OT. Last year he made one play against SD when he caught the SD D napping, he needed to get one first down to seal the game and couldn't do it. 2 years ago he had 2 key INTs in the red zone that cost Indy at least 6 pts and they lost by 4.
How come Peyton hasn't won 3 of 4 SBs since he has had that same K since '06? Brady put his team in position to win, Manning did not. Even the SB they lost Brady drove his team 80 yds for the go ahead TD in the final mins- that's something Peyton has NEVER done in a postseason loss.
no, the Jets are the 5th seed and the Ravens 6th. if both win, the Jets go to SD, the Colts get the lower seeded Ravens. Jets only go to Indy if they are the lower seed which can only happen if the Pats win.
Sure you can. he threw an INt that would have been a backbreaker but b/c the league wants him to win the officials overturned the clear Troy Polamalu INT. later after having failed to get a 1st down and turning it over on downs Pitt fumbled at the Indy 1 and Indy returned it near midfield. Could peyton get the game to OT? Nope. despite those gifts he got them in long FG range and they missed the kick. he had a 2nd and 3rd and 2 from the Pitt 28 w/ :31 secs and 2 TOs. Did he try to get the first down and get his K in better position? Nope- he tried to score a TD TWICE. This is an example of where #s lie, he didn't have a good game despite what the #s say and in their 8 playoff losses Peyton has led those incredibly high powered O's to LESS than 14 PPG. Only ONE time has he led his O to more than 20 pts and in that game he threw those 2 RZ INTs that cost them at least 6 pts in a 4 pt loss.
Pray for the Ravens. SD is like NO offensively. Jets can smoke SD by running the ball and rushing the passer. Indy is a far more difficult matchup....
save yourself some time and energy. junc's had this argument before, and nothing you can say will change his mind. If you're a real masochist, go ahead and start reading this thread(Manning stuff probably starts heating up at page 8 and it just gets down and dirty from then on): http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=51207&highlight=manning&page=8
I can't believe a thread about rules turned into another Junc "Manning sucks in the playoffs" thread.
