Thaddeus Gibson, 3-4 OLB prospect, has declared for the draft. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/news/story?id=4798056 He could be a very good 3-4 OLB in the NFL, played linebacker and end at Ohio State. Won't go in the 1st round or the top of the 2nd, could be a guy to look for if we want to trade up into the 2nd round, but if we are very lucky he could fall to the 3rd.

Should be a very good 3-4 OLB. Unlike Gholston, Gibson played some LB at OSU, so he should transition well. Thad hits with a purpose and makes the opposition feel the pain. At this time, IMO, Gibson will be a late rd 2 prospect. Waiting on Heyward's intentions, should be an announcement soon.
It seems as if Heyward will stay in school. I'd love to see Gibson as a Jet, and Heyward as well. If Heyward declares, an OSU combo of Heyward and Gibson as the team's first two picks would be great for the defense. That would be passing on a young NT, which the Jets need, so perhaps they will look later to a guy like Torrell Troup who is currently at a very LEAN 314 lbs at UCF but he can carry 340 lbs to play in a 3-4 with ease. He arrived at UCF at 345 lbs, great work habit.
Here in Columbus, the media is reporting it's a 50/50 chance on Heyward declaring. If Heyward declares, he will be a top 15 pick and out of reach for the Jets. Heyward could move up in the same way Tyson Jackson did last year. IMO, Heyward is a much better player than Jackson. Carlos Dunlap still may be an option in rd 1. Thad Gibson would be a nice option for the Jets in Rd 2. As I mentioned earlier, alot of Jet fans will show their hate for the pick just because he's an OSU player. Thad Gibson is a football player that would an excellent fit in Rex's defense.
I can't see Heyward becoming a Top 10 pick if he declares for this draft, let alone a Top 15 pick. I think if he declares he will be available for the Jets, barring the Jets reaching the Superbowl. Heyward may be a better player than Jackson, I haven't really looked into comparing them, but this draft is stocked with stud defenders that will prevent Heyward from climbing draft boards like Jackson did on KC's. Kansas City was changing their defense and needed a cog for their new 3-4 front, and Jackson was the only defender in the draft that they felt fit that description (I guess they didn't think Raji would fit in a 3-4). KC should have traded down, regardless, it's a different draft. If Heyward stays in college he could cement himself as a Top 10-15 pick next year. This year I can see him falling to the bottom of the 1st although I would take him with a mid-1st round pick. Looking at the order of the draft I don't envision many teams prioritizing a 3-4 DE as their #1 pick.
Interesting!! I look at it differently. In my eyes, a 3-4 DE with the size and athletic ability of Heyward is a rare combination and highly sought by NFL teams that run a 3-4. No other positon than a 3-4 DE (maybe a huge NT) with size and athletic ability get's draft sooner than later. Tyson Jackson rose from a Mid-First Rd pick to a top 5 player in a blink of an eye. Scott Pioli knew the importance of a 3-4 DE with Jackson's physical abilities, they don't grow on trees.
I certainly don't disagree with what you're saying, I think Heyward is the best 3-4 DE prospect in college football which I've been saying for a while. His size and athleticism are topnotch and he has a great work ethic, however, this draft is different. Tyson Jackson rose for the reasons I already stated, if you look at the last draft there were also no real 3-4 NT stud prospects (Raji aside). I think Dan Williams and Terrance Cody have a better shot of flying up draft boards than Cameron Heyward. Behind Heyward there will be guys like Carlos Dunlap, Corey Wootton, Jared Odrick, C.J. Wilson, and Vince Oghobaase. I don't like Dunlap, but arguments can be made for all of these guys being great 3-4 DEs which could be had later in the draft. Outside of Cody and Williams, there are no stud 3-4 NTs that are sure things. Some people like Boo Robinson, I like Torrell Troup's potential, and I like junior Phil Taylor's potential A LOT (he probably won't be in the draft), but none of these guys are sure things, which would lead to an increased value for Williams and Cody. A lot of OTs will be taken in the 1st round with QBs which will also push down good players in the draft. I think there is a better chance that Heyward is still available for the Jets than Dan Williams in this draft.

You become increasingly annoying with each post, especially after you are proven wrong. I will now say for the 50th, maybe 60th, and last time, that I live in New York, grew up a Jets fan and am a Jets fan, that also happens to be a fan of Atlanta Falcons. I wouldn't take your all-world TE Bear Pascoe on either team, however.
How was I wrong? I THOUGHT DeAndre McDaniel would enter the draft because he had an excellent season. I think it was a stupid decision for him to stay in school. There's nothing wrong with him wanting to earn a degree, but it's not like he's going to use it - he's a football player.
