I don't think people realize just how amazing of a season this guy's having. I just looked at his stats, he's leading the league in rushing with 1626 yards (250 more than anyone else), and the crazy part is, he's averaging 6 YARDS PER CARRY. SIX. In the NFL. He could be the first guy to reach 2,000 since I think Jamal Lewis. But he's still getting seemingly little recognition around the NFL - people are more focused on Manning, Brees, and AP. Remember when people thought he was a reach in the draft?
I wouldn't say he doesn't get recognition, just ask the fantasy football crowd. It probably didn't help his case when the team started 0-6 with all the talk being 'what happened to the titans?'.
That's the thing.. he's awesome at catching out of the backfield as well. Chris Johnson is an absolute monster. I can't believe people were down on the titans for picking him back during the draft.
He's gonna break the record for yards from scrimmage this season, he's been unreal And, him and VY are only gonna get better...scary stuff
If people didn't take team success into account when voting for MVP (which i never understood) He would be the front runner for the award right now. Chris Johnson is what Reggie Bush was supposed to be....only better.
My thoughts exactly. Not only is he faster than Bush, but he has the patience of an elite NFL RB. As an owner of him in a fantasy keeper league (yay me!) I've seen every one of his games. Excellent vision, and he waits for his blockers and for the holes to develop...unlike Bush. He also displays the best acceleration in football.
I noticed this on the highlights last night, he weaves in and out behind blocks and then takes off. Amazing we held him to 33 yards or whatever, but we had Jenkins then, too, and they didn't have Young playing. Him and VY in the same backfield is scary.
indeed. I'm in a keeper league and somehow he was NOT saved by anyone from last season. I gave up all my jabroni keepers just so I could have first dibs on him and re-build around him. It was a risk, but after week 14 it's done nothing but payoff ten-fold.
He had 97 yards against us this year. Unless you mean last year when we held him to 46 but that was on 10 carries
