You should send the stats in your other post to Schein.

its really a disgrace, the issue with lots of football fans and analysts is that they don't look past the really obvious numbers so yes Woodson has more picks and more sacks than Revis. But look at the receiving numbers against them, just looking at number 1 guys who "should" be matched up with Woodson, Hines Ward had 126 and a TD, Roy Williams had 100+. Also it goes to show you how ludacrisly good Revis makes the Jets Pass D, we avg 153 passing yards per game, GB avgs 200 yards a game, thats 50 yards difference

The issue is Revis isn't nearly thrown at as much as Woodson. The list of guys Revis has shut down this year reads like a who's who list of Prow Bowl Wrs. Randy Moss and TO have like a combined 13 catches against the guy in 4 games. Andre Johson ... 4 catches... Ocho Cinco ZERO catches...Reggie Wayne ...3 catches. Steve Smith 1 catch for 6 yards!!!! It's unreal..if these guys don't look at more then just numbers they shouldn't have a vote.

If they look at the wrong numbers ie INT's, pass deflected. Those are all indicative of a corners effectiveness. But what they need to do is look at the splits for each of these guys the Jets faced and THOSE numbers will speak for themselves

Or INT's returned for TD's they should look at the effect the guy has on his team. After all would the Jets have the #1 w/o Revis? It's arguable that they don't.

Woodson would be deserving, and so would Revis.

Revis is the best shut down corner since Sanders, even Sanders says so. The knocks I've seen on Revis from other forums is he doesn't get the sacks and INT's Woodson gets, but that doesn't mean Revis couldn't do what Woodson does, but the scheme doesn't allow him to do those things.

How is Revis supposed to get sacks when the scheme doesn't let him blitz? Woodson gets deep help, and can jump routes, while Rvis has to stick with the opposing team's best WR all the time.

What more casual observers don't realize, and it's been mentioned, is that Revis allows our D to play 11 on 11. Woodson does not. What Revis does shows up not in individual stats, but defensive team stats. What Woodson does shows up in his stats. Revis frees up other players to jump routes and blitz.

I've watched Woodson. He's very good. But he could not do what Revis can, and I believe that Revis COULD do what Woodson does in the same scheme. As far as Schien goes... he's about as smart as Beningo is. Take yer pick... is a brick smarter than a rock?

I'm also going to throw this in. Revis is as good a tackler at CB as I've ever seen. Sanders can"t shine his shoes in that dept.

Just about everybody with a vote has said they will vote for Woodson over Revis and that is no slight to Revis but just a testament to the season Woodson is having.

Woodson and the rest of that backfield go for the ball instead of covering the receiver.

They get the INT's but the also gave up the 5th most receiving TD's in the league. 29 TD's to the Jets 8 allowed.

Woodson also only has 18 passes defended to Revis' 31.

Legitimate candidate, yes. Deserving to win it, no.

Less passes are thrown Revis's way thus his opportunity to intercept is less.
This should be taken into account.

I agree. My only point was that we shouldn't ridicule people who think Woodson should win. They are both great players. I'm sure people in Wisconsin think anyone who would vote for Revis over Woodson is an idiot too. It is really hard to say one player (especially on defense) is the best in the league.

    No doubt.

But they have the award which typically goes to 1 player.

The receivers Revis nullified, had outstanding statistics this year outside of the game they played against the Jets.

Andre Johnson (1), Randy Moss (2), Reggie Wayne (4), Ochocinco (14), Marques Colston (15), Steve Smith (18), and Mike Sims-Walker (24) (listed in order of statistical acheivement ranking among NFL WR) as you can see are all ranked within the top 24 WR in the NFL. More specifically, the former list members all rank in the top 12 in the AFC in terms of statistics for a WR.

Revis made it seem like the guys listed, didn't suit up the day their team played the Jets.

    That's a DPOY, IMO. I don't know, call me a Homer.

Edit: Also include Roddy White (7)

I don't know where this almost everyone with a vote said they are voting Woodson came from. I've heard more then one person who would be in the know say that Revis is gonna win it.

In 16 games, Darelle Revis allowed a mere 456 yards against, 3 TD's against, had 6 picks and 1 pick six.

If that doesn't scream SHUTDOWN CORNER

    I dont know what does.
