He really isn't though. Norwood is the leader of that team and his never quit motor makes him stand out. You're damn right he's the best player on that team, but Geathers, Matthews, Gilmore, Whitlock, and Culliver are all on the same level athletically as Eric Norwood.
I would never question your opinion and knowledge of the Gamecock's, you see every game. I can only tell you my opinion of what I've seen. I'm not a Buckeye Fan, but see every game, and it really pissed me off when everyone (mostly) on this board was telling me how wrong I was about Gholston and what a great player the Jets drafted. The few games I've seen, Norwood was a terror and made tons of plays. It's a shame that the Gamecock's offense has gone flat. Not too long ago SC's offense was exciting to watch. I was a huge Cory Boyd fan and loved to see him make big play after big play. Cory Boyd seemed to be a fan favorite.
I'm really excited to see what you have to say about a lot of the Big Ten guys - that's probably the conference I pay the least amount of attention to. I wasn't a Gamecock during the Lou Holtz era. I believe god is punishing me by making me root for a Steve Spurrier team. Cory Boyd was awesome though. It's really surprising that he didn't make it in the pros. ...couldn't agree more.
No thanks, I just like to rub it your noses every once in a while E....always enjoy your POV, your knowledge is endless. This board wouldn't be the same without you.
I went all the way to Birmingham to watch Spurrier's Shamecocks play completely heartless football for 4 quarters. Eric Norwood had a pretty good game. He was all over the place on the first couple of drives - I looked up his stats and he had 9 solo tackles. An alarming stat is that none of those tackles were in the backfield. The Huskies, particularly Andre Dixon, ran all over us. Like I said earlier in this thread: With lack of depth at defensive tackle, teams wear down Carolina. Teams can easily focus on putting a hat on Eric Norwood, and he's taken out of a lot of plays. Norwood had an awesome career and a great senior season.
Sorry you had to make that trip to watch a bad game. Must be over 300 miles to watch a Gamecock team as flat as day old beer. I've never seen so many dropped passes in bowl game...disgraceful.
TCU is playing tonight Jerry hughes in another pas rusher to watch, not sure if he is too small for a 3-4 DE. what do you guys think ?
WAY too small to be a 3-4 defensive end. I'm not as high on Jerry Hughes as a lot of people are. I think he can be a good player as an end in the 4-3. I don't know if he'll be as good against NFL offensive linemen either.
