http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/01/04/bills-fire-entire-coaching-staff/ More signs pointing to Cowher? I can only hope.....
People do realize that, though Cowher is a good coach, it took him 14 years and perhaps the most rigged Super Bowl in NFL history to win a title right? Having said that, its still a great move by Buffalo if it happens, especially for what Buffalo has been through for awhile.
Its possible but I just can't see him going to Buffalo. He had a shot to coach the Jets when Mangini was fired and didn't take the oppurtunity. The Jets actually have talent unlike the Toronto Bills. Hell, maybe Cowher wants to start completely from scratch and build his team from the ground up.
Personally, I have Fox as my top choice, but who really knows if he stays in Carolina. Cowher would be a very welcome second choice. Hopefully he gets a solid OC. I keep hearing Weis, but who really knows.
The BILLS have quite a bit of talent. The coaching staff has been the thorn in the side of the BILLS. Sure there is a glaring hole at QB and LB, those needs can be addressed.
I still think Cowher would be great for Buffalo, but I was just saying what I said last year when Jets fans were thinking Cowher=Super Bowl. I don't think he does, but Buffalo has had it rough lately so Cowher getting them to lets say (9-7) would be huge for them in 2010 and he could do that.
I wouldn't be too impressed if he cannot get Dick Lebeau to follow him. His track record as a HC without him isn't... How do you say? Oh yes, good.
You can say that Super Bowl was rigged all you want, but Tomlin won the next Super Bowl with The Chin's players. That's 2 Super Bowls by a team assembled by The Chin, so, I would be pretty weary if he joins our Division.
Don't forget about Dan Rooney. He still had a hand in assembling that team. He's one of the few owners who qualifies as a good football mind. EDIT: And again, Dick Lebeau. He's the other constant in this equation.
That's true too. They run a tight ship there and it starts from the FO on down to the players. Cowher has eye for talent, that's for sure, and if he gets the right DC in in his staff (if he joins the Bills), it'll def make the AFC East interesting. At least defensively. He may take a few years to assemble a team, but he will build it. It all depends on how much patience the Canadians will have for him. The Dolphins on the other hand, will just continue to suck.
No way Cowher goes to Buffalo. It's way to cold and miserable there. If he comes back, it will be to a warm weather team with a laid-back fan base (Texans, anyone?).
Over the past two weeks, it almost seems like Rex put that douche in timeout. The conservative playcalling has been awesome. What if Heimerdinger ended up in Buffalo? I've been hearing his name a lot when it comes to being a head coach. He was a shitty OC here as well. It would be awesome if Schotty ran the Bills, because Ryan and staff would get to destroy him twice a year. Also, what happens in Marty Schottenheimer takes the Bills job and wants Brian to come be his OC? Would they owe us a draft pick?
Cowher always has had good players. You can't credit him for the 2nd title at all. Who knows what would have happened if he coached them? I believe they missed the playoffs after he won Super Bowl XL. Then he retired. Right?
