As much as I'd like that same revenge, I'm gonna be a huge Ravens fan for the next two weeks. I want to see another game in the Swamp.
On a related note, anyone who is over the age of 60 and was at the game today has balls of fucking steel.
I remember being pissed that I had to go to a birthday party and miss that game. It was at a roller rink and I bailed on the party as I watched the game with some dis-enfranchised clerk chain-smoking. Oh, to be 10 again...
Im 32 and i have seen some stuff with the jets mostly bad. with a few bright spots and times. no matter what happens this year or next or the next 20 years I will always bleed green and white.
That would be me. For some time between a Jets and Rangers fan, I was pretty close to being a serial killer.
Happy birthday! I'm 22 and just started following football and the Jets last season (don't live in the US so I discovered it late). This far I have only seen the Jets finish with a winning record so I'm very very happy .
Very odd indeed. Times were bleak then for sure. Glad you came aboard and waited it out. I'm 47 and I became a fan of the Mets and Jets at the same time due to their spectacular '69 seasons when I was 7 years old. My dad and older brother were not sports fans, so I brought sports into the family by being at the right age at he right time. I learned to read, and all I wanted to read about were the Miracle Mets, and Super Bowl Jets - two storybook franchises. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case since. I sent in for season tix when I was just 16 and have rarely missed a game since. Had my tickets before I could drive to see them play. I spent five years traveling to Queens via bus an train until they relocated to Jersey, which worked well for me being from Jersey. Today's win put them at 106-105-1 at the Meadowlands. I was at 208 of the 212. Sooooo happy to see them leave the stadium on such a high note. I figure next year might be their year and I am thrilled that we are climbing while the Giants are on a downturn. Couldn't afford PSL's so next year I leave the cover of lower seats beneath the overhang for the upper deck end zone in the new stadium. I am obviously unhappy about that, and my future as an every game fan is now in doubt. I can't imagine what a seat high in the uppers felt like tonight. Not sure if I can take that game after game. They really took a bite out of us die-hards who are not wealthy and willing to hand it over to Woody and the Mara boys. Will always root for the green and white, no mater what.
May God bless you. The game is leaving the average man behind, but despite that, we still can't help but to love our team, come hell or high water. I guess that's what the Woody Johnson's of the world depend on. A guy like him will never understand, but will do what he can to rape us. Let's give him the empty stadium we gave the Mets.
This was around the time I officially became "die-hard". I was more of a basketball fan as a kid, didn't really watch football much, but considered myself a Jets fan. In 1995 I began watching more than a few games, and by 1996 I was watching all of them. I remember the Jets being the butt of all the late-night jokes, too. The funny thing was that in my early rooting-for-the-Jets career we went from 3-13 and 1-15, to 12-4 and in the AFC Championship game. I had that taste in my mouth early on, and been waiting for something similar ever since.
I'm 18 so I grew up on Vinny, Chad and Wayne. That playoff game against the Steelers was the worst loss I have ever suffered as a sports fan.
25. been rootin for the jets since im like 8. naturally i was an angry child thanks to the coslett and kotite eras of coaching
It would be the Chargers most likely, as I don't see the Pats beating the Ravens, especially with an injured Brady and no Welker. You'll have to wait for the AFCC game to face the Colts again...and then either a game with Brett Favre or a rematch with the Sants right after that
I'm 36 and no matter how high or how low I am every single game or season, I have never said nor thought SOJ. I am always looking for the positives and man there are plenty of positives in this season. I am very happy with the Rex Ryan era & with Mark Sanchez as our QB. Let's hope that both of these men get their first playoff win in Cincy.
I'm 18, and feel the same way. One game at a time from here on out, but man, NONE OF US can't not feel good about our defense!
I'm 23, I've been watching them since the beginning of the 1998 season, just randomly chose them to be my team since I didn't really like any other teams (From LA). I've gone to watch at least one of their games each year for the past 3 years (1-4 record sadly...). BTW I feel exactly the same as ThunderbirdJet, even after the Jets shut down the Bengals, they get zero respect around the league. We need to prove them wrong and it starts by beating the Bengals and Colts again when their seasons are on the line. With this defense we should have a shot at getting deep in the playoffs if we just play tough no mistake football and I can't wait till next saturday.
I don't think it matters whether we beat the Colts, Bolts or Birds winning playoff games earns respect.
Some of us older Jets fan are old enough to have seen the Jets win the superbowl so it's not as bad as it may seem.
O.K. Here goes, I am 72, yes, that is correct. I have seen the best of the Jets and plenty of the worst. Since I have been watching since they were the Titans. I was screaming for Joe Willy when we shocked the football world. I have been to the Meadowlands, Baltimore in the old and new stadiums and Philly to see my Jets play. Going to Philly and Baltimore wearing a Jet jersey is a awsome negative experiance. You can guess what I mean. However back to the present this team is built to kick alot off ass in the future. I hope to live a long time to enjoy the kickass part of this team. Allentown Ernie.
