Some things from the NBC pregame: -Ochocinco said that if Revis shuts him down tonight, he'll change his name back to Chad Johnson. -Collinsworth seems to think the Bengals are going to go for it, because they want the 3 seed just in case they play the Pats or Ravens in the AFC Championship Game. -Ravens are in, Broncos & Steelers are out, so it's either us or the Texans. :jets:
I feel like they will play their starters for most, if not all, of the game. I can only see them taking them out if we hit Palmer a lot or we have a big lead at halftime. This is obviously just a gut feeling and is not based on any reports.
I don't know, I think that'd be a pretty terrible decision. If the Jets go up, and he leaves in Palmer, there's nothing stopping the Jets from taking shots at Carson or some of their other guys in anticipation of beating them up a little bit before we play them again next week. Not that we'd necessarily do that, but leaving in his starters is exposing them to injury against the team that's going to want them as beat-up as possible before the playoff game, as well as giving us more and more of his playbook.
I want them to play their starters for two reasons 1). See what we are made of as a complete team for swagger and confidence reasons 2). Stop all the Media BS about us backing in... lets kick some ass, balls to the walls NFL style!!!!!
If the Jets win, it's off to Cincy they go next week, word is the Bengals would rather play the Jets next week then the Texans who crushed them earlier this season in Cincy, no ones seems to really know what the Bengals will do, we'll have to see, I think if the Jets get a lead and are getting to Palmer, Lewis will pull him, the Texans were trying to hit Brady around today and once they did, Billy Boy yanked him. I just want the Jets to get in the playoffs, I'm already nervous as hell!!!
I don't see him listed in this blurb from Rotoworld: "Jets declared CB Donald Strickland, third QB Erik Ainge, QB Kevin O'Connell, RB Chauncey Washington, LB Kenwin Cummings, G Matt Slauson and LB Marques Murrell inactive for Week 17 against the Bengals."
Interesting, I saw this: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100104/ap_on_sp_fo_ne/fbn_bengals_jets_inactives_1
btw irony of ironies, after all the whining and moaning about how we would back in the playoffs because Indy sat everyone last week, if we do lose this week the beneficiary will be Houston, who saw Brady sit down the stretch this week. Yet there won't be a peep about that from the media. Not that I'm rooting for this scenario but still.
''cincy can decide if they play the jets, or if they play houston'' ... no respect. what if we decide we want to beat their starters anyways?
Damn it we better show up tonite. This is one of the most important games in recent history of this franchise. Just getting Ryan and Sanchez a little bit of playoff experience in their rookie season will go a long way to geting us that Lombardi trophy one day soon.
