Would the playoff game next weekend be on Sat or Sun? I'm trying to book a flight around this game. Thanks guys!
It's impossible to know for sure without knowing all the of the 1st round matchups. The one thing I'm almost certain of is that the Cowboys will be on primetime Saturday night. If I had to guess, I'd say the Jet-Bengal game would be the early game Saturday because I'm pretty sure that New England would be the other primetime game for the weekend. (on sunday, of course) Since NE would get the late Sunday spot, then the Jets would have to be the early game Saturday because the AFC/NFC always take turns getting the primetime spot on Wildcard weekend. So yeah, I'm pretty sure that IF the Jets win tommorow night, the Jets-Bengals wildcard game will be played Next Saturday at 4:00 pm Eastern time (I'm pretty sure that would be the timeslot for the early game)
hahaha, yeah sorry. In thinking about it more, I'm pretty sure I'm right that it would be the 4:00 game on Saturday but there really is no way for me to guarantee that. My guess is ENTIRELY based on the assumption that the Cowboys would get the annual Saturday night Wildcard timeslot (8:00 pm on Saturday night on NBC). (I'd be REALLY surprised if this didn't happen)
NFL gets final call over everything. But I believe NBC gets first dibs and they would most likely choose the Cowboys game or the Pats game. So if they choose Cowboys then CBS would probably choose Patriots for Sunday meaning Jets would play on Saturday at 4:30pm. If NBC chooses Patriots for Saturday night, then Jets would most likely play at 1:00 on Sunday. But once again, NFL gets the final call so it really is impossible to tell. However, if Minnesota falls to the 4th seed, I can't imagine NBC passing on Favre vs Rodgers. Then all bets are off where the Jets game would land. But let's get through tomorrow first.
This is what Fatcessa said on WFAN last week. He said that the "people at NBC" told him that Dallas and the Pats would be the primetime games, so that leaves the Jets at 4pm on Saturday. Obviously this is not set in stone, but if you were making plans, I'd use this assumption.
I wonder if NBC would pass on the NY Market being the primetime game. Granted vs the Cowbitches it's a tough call but NY brings in alot of viewers and alot of advertisers. What's to say that the Jets wouldn't get the Sunday night game? Honestly I'd think having the entire tri state area would trump whatever Pats bandwagon fans that may still exist.
How much of a difference will one day make? Just wait a day to book it. Booking it without even knowing when the game is nothing less than foolishness.
Not against the Bengals. If we were playing the Patriots, and it was Baltimore vs Cincinnati, I think we'd get top billing, but Jets-Bengals probably doesn't excite the nation.
I work on saturday night at 5. I am total broke and need to work. The way things have been going lately I would plan on it being a 4:30 saturday game. I will take off work anyway
I doubt you will book a flight until you know they won the game. For sure somewhere during the game they will announce next's week TV schedule so U will know what day & time before the game ends
The Cowboys have a much biggesr national following than the Jets and are one of the biggest tv market teams in the history of sports. I'd be shocked if NBC didn't pick the cowgirls.
